i think it's funny and 8)
yea he overdoes it sometimes maybe but it's cool that he at least give props
-
yea i like it too, nuttin wrong wit it imo
-
i mean yeah its cool and shit but enough is enough. like i never had a problem with it, but when its every other line....come on man, thats just copyin a niggas talent...hes sayin what someone else said, and then addin Like Marvin, or ima come clean like jeru da damaja, or some shit ya feel me. like the cat that said it said it best if i wanna hear you givin props by spittin recycled lines id listen to a hov, foxy, or lil kim cd.
-
the funny thing is...Yukmouth does hella name dropping himself. i was listening to "Godzilla" earlier & he dropped a lot of names, just not Pac, Jay-Z, Biggie, Nas
-
its interesting cause he relates to stuff, like he has respect for a lot of things and people. BUt yess it becomes excessive, he doesnt have to mention the rucker when he lives in L.A but hey its game
-
its cool he showing respect to the artists he looked up to and have contributed to the game.but repeat it over and over again though does tend to suck. 8)
-
it can get very repetitive but I see it as a sign of respect and acknowledgement. So many rappers are on some "me, I, G.O.A.T." shit which also can get very tiring and repetitive.
-
He just does it too much.
-
Propping artists and dropping some names, nothing wrong with that but damn...
He just does it too much.
-
sometimes its cool, like when he uses all the album titles for a hook...
but sometimes he sounds like he's just a product of the game, everything he relates to shit that happen in hip-hop... even if it has no raport...
-
When I heard the album for the first time on the net I thought it was just a smart way to prefent Bootlegs. I thought Game, sponsored by Nike offcourse, released a version of his album with all kinds of bullshit lyrics on it. That way people could still download it, but had to go to the stores to buy the real album with the real lyrics on it. Sadlly this wasn't actually what happened.
This album isn't a gangsterrap album. There is no streetlife in it. There is no concrete. It's more like a suburbian guy talking about what he has seen on television, although sometimes clever.
Game fits more into the categorie of Nerd-rappers, backpackers, instead of Gangsterrap. Expect him to rap about Starwars on his next album.

i knew it would be a matter of posts before someone brought up yuk into this thread lol :P

it doesn't bother me
-
honestly, i never really thought about it that much untill people started bitching about it
-
it doesnt bother me at all, y'all be bitching about game namedropping but y'all dont say shit when rappers repeat the words bitch, 44, hoe, and shit like that in every song
-
never bothered me. At first I thought it was just coincidental. But after I heard "hard" a month or so ago I realized that it must be his style, which i cant knoc cuz it gottem signed to the math and sold 4 mill copies so it work. And it definlty aint a big deal. Everyone say he a biter but thats a unique style. Plus, I think I heard or read 50 say somethin like he does that for shock value or somethin.

Its hella annoying. Especially when he overuses east coast rappers names, as he procalmes how west coast he is.
-
Its alright if used sparingly, but he needs to come up with another way of getting them in there instead of constantly using, "I wanna see whats going on like Marvin", "Come Clean like Jeru", etc, there are other ways of setting those lines up, but he always uses like, which tends to get very annoying.
-
he does mention jay-z way too much but...
-
sometimes its cool, like when he uses all the album titles for a hook...

its a known fact that he taught himself to rap by studying other peoples albums so he is basically just a product. But i think he'll grow artistically on his next album and there wont be so much name dropping
-
If i listen 2 his album all the way thru then it annoys me. If i listen to the odd song it doesn't bother me.
K-Mart bitch
