Apologies if a similar thread has already been done recently. I had a brief look around and couldn't see one.
Anyway, if Dre seriously wants to use a select number of ''outside'' producers, these are the one's I'd like to see featured. Naturally, I'd be expecting each producer to bring their 'A' game:
DJ Quik (Pretty unlikely, but hey!)
Warren G (Just as unlikely as Quik, but a Warren/Dre collabo production would surely be dope)
Kanye West (I know, I know...he's not West Coast. However, I believe he's one of the best producers out there and I'm confident he could bring that level of quality that Dre is searching for to the project)
DJ Premier (Fairly unusual combination...but has he ever produced a 'wack' instrumental? Not to my knowledge.)
Those are probably the only outside producers that I would include if I were Dre - no Neptunes, Timbaland's, Jazze Pha's, etc. Preem and Kanye are perfectionists like Dre, so you know that they would give it their all and wouldn't come with anything second-rate. Also, you could count on both Warren and Quik to come with the classic West Coast vibe that old-school fans could appreciate.
Feel free to add your own lists!

Battlecat,DJ Quik,Hi-Tek,Warren G+Dre(of course). that would be a pretty ill and funky combo and all of those procuders are probably the greatest west coast hip hop producers of all time(i know Hi-Tek is from the mid-west but he makes "west coast" beats).
-
timbo
neptunes
premo
quik
kanye
just blaze
hi-tek
focus
basically whoever comes with enuff heat
-
Some Battlecat and Warren G would be cool
-
quik or warren. nobody else should be on it
-

Yeah, I dunno how I forgot Battlecat. He would definately come with something nice.
EDIT: If Daz could come with some ''All Eyez One Me'' calibre production, I think he would deserve to get on there. Never gonna happen though!
-
^Daz' recent productions hasn´t come anything near something that i think would be good enough to warrant a production slot on Detox.
-
j.r.,focus,hi tek, timbo(like put you on the game),storch and of course MEL-MAN

Like I said: Never gonna happen! ;D
I deliberately missed out Hi-Tek and Focus... after reading mellowman's latest posts, since it seem apparent that they will be involved in ''Detox'' in one way or another. I guess they are a given.
-
I'd like to see Warren G, DJ Quik, Battlecat, Jelllyroll, and Focus on it...
-
Dj Quik, Battlecat, Warren G, Timbo.....
tho i like Lt Hutton, Fredwreck, Jim Gettum, Scott Storch...
-
DJ Quik, Warren G or Daz Dillinger
Or people with similar Dre style: Fredwreck, Scott Storch, Mel-Man (He worked the best with Dre)
Timbo, Kanye, Neptunes, etc. are incredible producers but I don't if they would fit the whole West Coast Dre vibe that I want the album to be.
-
If Premier did for Dre what he did for Snoop on ''The One and Only'' and ''In This Life...'' we could expect a classic track.
-
Well I think just sticking to having Hi-Tek or Focus co-produce with him will be fine, you don't want too many people on it if Dre is going for one overall new sound. Should get Premier in just to do a dope scratched hook to one of the tracks, maybe Dre's farewell to the game with loads of his most famous lines scratched in the hook or something like that.
BTW, lol at people in this and Mellow Man's threads who don't know any Hi-Tek before he starting working with Aftermath.
-
fredwreck, hi tek & focus

i hope that peeps been checking him out for the shit he did for Talib too though. Talib with Tek=great songs, Talib replacing Tek with The Neptunes and Kanye and all that other shit=average music.
-
if he doesn't use all his own beats id like him to scrap the album
-
I would love to see some Eminem produced tracks on Detox.

No, I mean it. Eminem is the most underrated producer out there at the moment. Loyal To The Game is already a classic.

I can't deny it, the only work of Tek's I knew prior to his collaborations with Doggystyle/Aftermath/Shady, etc. was that on Reflection Eternal with Kweli and his Rawkus solo. That said, he's never been the greatest producer to me. Very hit and miss.
I'm more likely to LOL at the people who suddenly begin hyping him as one of rap's greatest producers because he could play a prominent role in ''Detox''. He's about to get a few new 'fans'!

E-A-Ski 8)

On a serious note though... Mike Mosley :)

timbaland.
daz
thats it no netptunes, lil jon etc
-
The Alchemist
He's actually pretty versatile, I'm sure he'd be able to cook up something amazing for this album and that goes along with the sound Dr. Dre is looking for.
-
i want NO guest producers
-
no one :( what would b the point in a dre album without dre beats

everybody forgets a name.... BUD'DA
and others must be Scott Storch and F.B.T.

Whats Budda done recently?
Scott Storch is overrated and FBT don't fit Dre's style.
I'd just like to see Dre beats on it and I can't really be bothered thinking about it having other producers on it.
-
personally.. i don't give a damn who does the beats as long as they're quality... good on dre if he blows up some unknown guy by using his beats..
quality doesnt always mean a big name.. and a big name doesnt always mean quality..
dre is the person to take a diamond in the rough and make it shine ultra bright
-
quik. warren g, daz, battlecat, fredwreck, melman or any1 from the aftermath camp (focus, storch)
peace
-
cool n dre
just blaze
dj quik
mannie fresh /david banner
-
i totaly forgot about anothology aka nu jerzy devil.his beats are dope and dre-ish
-
cool n dre

If Cool & Dre came with a beat as nice as that for ''Hate It Or Love It'' I'd certainly look forward to hearing it. That could make for a dope combination.
-
^^cooland dre said in recent interview that theyll work on detox

Yeah, but when you get average producers like Nottz saying they're going to be on ''Detox''...that's when I start to have my doubts over some reports. We'll just have to wait and see.
-
a combination of Neptunes, Salaam Remi, Marley Marl, Warren G, Timbaland, Hi-Tek, Denaun and Meech Wells all mixed by Dre.
-

so i want to see him again, again in DETOX, i think he is a perfect producer got a chemistary with dre...look at these credits....str8gone by king-t, been there done that by dr. dre, nationowl by nowl, stay down by king-t, 6 perfect songs of westside conneciton's firs album, never no more by aaliyah, 3 perfect songs of war and peace vol.1 by ice-cube, and more PERFECT songs...
Scott Storch is overrated and FBT don't fit Dre's style.
bass brothers are musicians, who are producin new melodies, not using samples, dre might use them as musician, u dont listen slim shady lp or devils night albums?
I'd just like to see Dre beats on it and I can't really be bothered thinking about it having other producers on it.
i'd just like to see all beats produced by dre but i dont want him to use samples, i want that he plays keyboards
-
if Dr Dre even thinks about putting kanye west on for a track i will kill him.
Even though Dr Dre should use his own beats in my opinion i wouldnt mind if he used warren g.
