man i hear everyone in here talkin about how butch should drop a album cuz he'd sell n shit but duz anyone in here think he wudnt sell shit?? i mean i aint no hater, i think his dope but if nate dogg cant sell shit and he was on everything ya could be on what makes ppl think butch will? i mean nates been in the game years now and he couldnt carry his album, i thought it was weak, now i know butch is younger but u think he could carry a whole album? and sell???
i think he got talent but ppl like dogystyle recs or whoever who aint releasin him yet doin it cuz they probably feel he wont sell 2.
what ya all think?

I highly doubt butch would sell.
1st off hes from the west coast
2nd off he only does singing like nate dogg
3rd , i doubt too many ppl other than hardcore west coast fans even really know about butch.

If Nate Dogg can't go gold with all his exposure from being on every other artists songs, I doubt Butch would sell even 100,000...Bad Azz dropped probably the best west coast album of last year and what did he sell...And he's more well known than Butch...

Nate Dogg had bad promotion...Nobody even knew his album was out, barely any record stores outside of the LA area had it, and if they did have it, it was hidden in the back of the rap section (Just like Truth Hurts album)...
It all has too do with promotion...any artist alive can sell with promotion...Peace

Hm, it will probably be the same thang like with Nate Dogg's last album. High awaited but ended up on poor sales. He is too unknown to make a platinum album. It would sell, if he would do lotta collabos with famous Rap Stars.

So your saying promotion was good?! LoL..do you know how many kids at my school didnt even belive me when I told them a Nate Dogg album existed...And these are the same kids that make up 50% of Hip Hop album sales today...Belive me, with the right promotion ANY album can sell...

Promotion isn't everything, so K-Suge is partly right.
I think Butch is one of the tightest "hookers" (lol) in the game, but I sadly dont think he would sell much.
Maybe he would go platinum if they released a giga-hit like e.g. "Oh no" with Nate Dogg & Pharoahe.
But it would have to be a VERY big hit.
Even Tha Eastsidaz barely went platinum with their first album, and they even had "SNOOP DOGG" in BIG letters on their cover, and the 2 smash-hits "G'd up" & "Got Beef".
I doubt Butch would sell even 100.000 if he gets only the average first-single hit.
If you ask 100% of the population, who Butch Cassidy is, you would get these answers:
40%: "He is that cowboy-legend"
50%: "Who?"
7%: "Oh, that Snoop Dogg singer isn't it?"
3%: "Yea, he is that tite cousin of Nate Dogg with them phat azz hooks"
But I know I would have bought it though. :D

Butch Cassidy is damn tight, very talented for sure. HOWEVER, he does not come close to Nate dogg! NOT EVEN CLOSE! He hasn't been doing it for 10 years now, constantly helping make platinum hits. He does not have as strong of voice (Butch's voice is tight, but rather empty). Butch is good at hooks, and could prolly drop a nice album, but no way in hell would he blow up.

Butch is a dope mutha fucka and I think he would create a bangin' album. But there are too many haters and bootlegers. Plus not a lot of westcoast artists get much recognition these days. A majority of people who buy rap albums are young white kids who buy the shit cause the single has a nice jingle or a catchy hook or a busta like ja rule in the song. The real west coast supporters are a dying breed.
