I want to leave Anfield - Gerrard

Steven Gerrard has told Liverpool he wants to leave Anfield.

Liverpool's 25-year-old captain delivered the news to chief executive Rick Parry after he rejected a £32m offer from champions Chelsea.

Gerrard has turned down a £100,000-a-week contract offer made by Liverpool in emergency talks on Monday.

yer but your a one man team.  Without Gerrard your shit.  How many times did he save you last season?  Rooney was a good player for us but as we proved last season he was never considered a 'one man team' type of player at everton.  Gerrard runs Liverpool left right and center.  Without him you wont be half as good as a team next season.  Aimar is a good player but as an attacking mid, Gerrard is a great defensive mid that can hit a great pass and has got a great shot, therefore hes a good all rounder.  Aimar will do nothin for you defensive wise.  Alonso is good but he wont fill Gerrards gap.

Bye bye Gezzer.

liverpool simply aren't good enough for gerrard

and everton played the best they have for 10 years (apart from the FA Cup win) after rooney left

thats my point exactly...the press were tippin everton for relegation when rooney left...an i think dat more than anything inspired ya team in the 1st half of the season at least....an yes gerrard did drag the team through in certain parts of the season...but to say we're a one man team is idiot talk....the stats show this season we have won more games without him in the team than we did with him....

i mean he's a great player..but anytime a player starts thinking hes bigger than the club its time 4 dem to go....an gerrards had dat frame of mind for a while now...at least now benitez will have the money to make some profound differences...

also aimar is a great mid...an with the tactics benitez employs hed fit perfectly...play him behind the striker with hamann an alonso behind him...an hamann an alonso are more than capable of takin gerrards defensive responsibilities...
