WWE releases several Sperstars
July 5, 2005
WWE has decided not to proceed with any renegotiations with Bubba and D-Von Dudley. We wish both Bubba and D-Von the best in all future endeavors.
Also, World Wrestling Entertainment has come to agreements on the release of the following Superstars. WWE would like to wish them the best in their future endeavors.

Woah, they released the Dudley's? I know they were getting stale, but that was the best tag team in the company to me. Charlie Haas was dope and so was Billy Kidman.

These releases are do to the fact that the WWE is expected to lose around $10million when they move to the USA network, so they're trying to cut costs now so they don't pay for it in a few months.

Kenzo Suzuki has offically been released making the total number of cuts today at 16.
Well, another one is on the way. More than one, but we have it confirmed that Hiroko Suzuki has also been released from the company. Expect that to be added to the WWE.com list shortly

Reasons for some of the releases:
-- The Dudley Boys (Bubba Ray & D’Von) were released because their contracts are up next month and they couldn't agree money terms with WWE. The Dudleys are said to be looking at TNA and Japan as future options.
-- Marty Jannetty was released because of a domestic incident that occurred with his partner. He was subsequently jailed.
-- Dawn Marie had her contract bought out due to her pregnancy

Several of the cuts surprised me. I heard they're not done yet. If it was me, I'd chop off like 20-25 more ( peep the respective rosters, they still have alotta useless 'talents' ) and reunite the rosters, forget this Raw \ Smackdown shit. Add an hour to Raw, get rid of Smackdown and everyone gets their shine on.

Cant understand the logic of employing so many wrestlers if they know eventually the company will have to fire some. Now that WWE pretty much controls wrestling apart from lil shitty companys and Japan its unfair and unjust to release wrestlers IMO. I mean whats Maven gunna do now? I would be mad pissed off if I was him.

- Although WWE appreciated Matt Morgan's work ethic and personality, the feeling was that he lacked natural ability or enough promise to remain on the roster.
- Charlie Haas' release was due to his perceived lack of charisma, which stood in the way of his becoming a top draw.
- Jackie Gayda's release, however, was largely a product of being far too outspoken backstage. "Her mouth got her into trouble," one wrestler said.
- As with Charlie Haas, Billy Kidman was seen as very limited in terms of charisma. His durability was also in question, as he'd been very injury prone in recent months.
