yeah. I'd have expected more too

dj quik didnt sell 20,000 in his 1st week, he sold 45,000.

The single may be huge in the West, but anywhere else it gets no play AT ALL. Damn, it is Quiks worst debut ever, and obviously because Trouble is his least commercially viable single ever. I mean, Pitch in on a Party and Hand in Hand were huge here (Edmonton, alberta, CANADA) but noone that has heard this song likes it.......i dig the song, but it doesn't take a genius to realize that only hardcore Quik fans will feel Trouble. I mean, DAMN, "Put it in the Air" with Talib woulda been huge, but instead it is on the worst Soundbombing ever. Quik's album is pretty good, but on the real his last two albums are the worst two of his career......

Yo Myrealname.. i know Italy is totally cutted out when we talk about rap, but.. i've heard Ghetto Village at Radio DeeJay. What about DJ Quik? I dont listen to radios a lot, but i have never heard his single on radios.
It's a shame, cause i remember back in the days singles like Regulate, I Shot The Sheriff, What's love, Smokin me out, etc.. were 24/7 on the radios here. I mean.. very commercials, you know. Means sales.
BTW it's not a surprise the DJ Quik situation. I mean.. we gotta face the fact that pop-rap took the place of gangsta-rap or OG rap, like Quik. Now the only 4 artists who can sell millions in the west are: Dr.Dre (commercial), 2Pac (commercial. At least the Afeni-2Pac), Eminem (he aint exacly West, but.. still.. him!) and Snoop Dogg (commercial). The rest will never sell like in 1990-1995. Point.
Everlast rapping can sell more than DJ Quik making the dopest beats ever, and that's the sad truth. A bitch like Ashanti (damn, maybe she got 1-2 good tracks, but dont tell me she's all of a sudden the best black R&B singer of the USA!) can sell 20x more than a man like Nate Dogg, with an unique style and a wonderful voice.

as much as I love Quik, I prefer Warren.
