he had a chance to blow a few years ago when he was doing sinalbum gles for fabolous, busta, beanie & jay-z, and he never got the individual regognition as a producer like kanye, just blaze or alchemist....he fucked up with the federation for having a group with 1/3 of the group having talent.....what were they thinking with Stress? dude is wack, and Doonie Baby is butt as well, so I think that was rics chance to blow and he failed
-
^^^they were coo....i liked the federation album....i think rick rock still has a chance to blow....he's one of the best producers out the west...

^^LMAO! People ain't knowing!!
Rick Rock did have a huge chance back when he was doing all that for Jay, Fabo and Busta, lately he's been a little more low key. I think Jellyroll is taking his thunder a little (They're both very similar with their beats).
-
^^^yea thats true....jelly roll is getting bigger
-
i thought breathe stretch shake was one of the dopest club beats for ages. heard he's doing some shit with some underground eastcoast artists at the moment...
-
forgot about that ma$e joint, and the eastcoast artist El Dorado Red is dope also
-
His beat for "Go Dumb" was so dope, I was slumping that song for a long time

I donno...The Federation album had about 4-5 songs that were STRONG AS HELL on it, and that Hyphy shit got recognized nationwide. Only one of them was really spittin hard, but the other two didn't really make the songs worst. I don't know why the hell he hasn't blown up...maybe because he isn't like Jazze Phe, Neptunes, Timbo, and all of them who are all in every video they produced the song for, and annoucin at the beginning "Rick Rock on the beat" so most people who are just general consumers, especially outside the west, have no idea who he is. He is one of my favorite producers, and I think his club style is definitely the best club sound the west coast has to offer, and needs to be heard.
My homeboy is from Jersey, and he heard Hyphy at a club in Atl and was trippin off the dance n shit, but he liked the beat and I was playin the Federation album for him. He doesn't like much west coast music but he was feelin the beats on there. I told him that Rick Rock did the beats for it, and I named like 10 songs that he had of course heard from Rick Rock, and he was like "yeaaah I can tell, [You might see me] sounds like Change the Game" and he said a lot of those beats sounded just like what he did for Fabolous, Jay, Beanie, and Mase. But he had NEVER heard of Rick Rock and didn't know who did those beats..he thought it was somebody from the east.
