I didn't know they were making this into a movie! So I went back and started reading it agian. Hopefully they do it justice like they did with Sin City and Batman Begins. Even though in the trailer i saw how they changed a few things.

Anyone know about this book?  Fans of The Watchmen should...

My hopes aren't high. Alan Moore has nothing to do with the project (and he doesn't want to be). I could be surprised though and it could be great.

I've seen a few pictures and read Alan Moore's cusses about it (not nice!), i'll watch it, but won't expect much from it. If you look online it won't take long to find what is supposedly V's introduction speech (when he meets Evey) in the film and if it's the one they go for in the final edit then this could be a disgrace to the comic, but pant-wettingly funny. Seen the poster (Not bad), not the trailer.

Anyone know if the final installment of Promethea is out?

They've said they were gonna make The Watchmen several times, last i heard Paramount put the red light on a $120 million version. Which if you've seen From Hell & The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (& i guess Constantine) is no bad thing. Personallly i don't think The Watchmen would work as a single film. Terry Gilliam wanted to make it into like 3 (films) i think, or a TV series, but now he says that it should just be left as it is.

I think Promethea is a dope read and recommend it if you're a fan of comics or other Moore Stories.

I'm not sure if he is against beingf involved because they are ruining it, or because he made it for comics and he feels it is a comic and has no interest in seeing it be made as a movie. Maybe even if they gave him full power he still wouldn't want to do it. I'm not sure.

As for Watchmen, I can't see it being good on the big screen. It was an amzing comic book that broke the boundaries of what comics could be, but by no means was it revolutionary in the realm of movies. That being said, it's still an amazing story. I just find it hard to take Night Owl seriously in that suit in real life. Some great comic book stories just don't work in live action. I could be wrong. Of course we may never know because if the movie does get a 120 mil budget then it's going to have corporate fingers all over it and the movie will be ruined.
