After bumpin' a lot of his songs today, I felt like making a thread for him...Ren's always been one of my favorite spitters from tha West. His features on other rappers' albums always came off dope ("The Format", "Hello", "Some L.A. Niggaz", a lot of Eazy-E's material, & more) & to me he's tied with The D.O.C. & Cube as tha dopest spitters from NWA...
-
i like his verse off kurupt's space boogie album.. just listened to it the other day, had the song on repeat for a while

That Fredwreck beat is off tha hook...X, Ren, & Kurupt came off real dope on that one & that Nate hook is a killer...
-
yeah he's dope nut he's jus alwayz in the shadow of Cube,Dre & Eazy 2 bad cuz he's always kept it dope
-
I've always liked Ren over Ice Cube. Ren spits hard all the time, its a shame he never blew up like the other members of NWA.

^I agree...Ren was as hard as they came & didn't get a lot of recognition for it...
-
yea ren was tight....i say as good as ice cube...
-
every guest track mc ren is on is pure fire
i want a new ren album
i hope he's on cube and dre's new albums
-
how can u say ren is better than cube?
ren's solo albums suck
-
Ye i quite like Ren a lot, but like LiL HD said, his solo albums aint all that to compare his to cubes,
-
MC Ren's last album with John Doe sucked. I think he fell off :-\. But shit, he used to be tight as fuck. My fav album is "The Villain In Black", i still listen to Mad Scientist like everyday, when i go to work, it's incredible! Matter of fact i'll do it in 5 mins, lol, cause i'm in a hurry and i gotta go. Anyway yes, i do agree MC Ren used to be tight as fuck. But Ice Cube > MC Ren all day all night. Maybe if they give him some dope ass beats he can still spit tight shit, like he did on Space Boogie and on that EA Ski track.

always loved that verse he spits so visciously like he does on snoops last meal album on the song set it off
"here comes the villian again , grab your ho and get the fuck outta town"
-
On the up in smoke tour cube was like to Ren i got you on No Vaseline and Ren was like nah, cube gave him a funny look and ren was like c'mon man i didnt even get a chance to reply. If Dre n Eazy were not fighting around that time, NWA would of surely 100% replied to No Vaseline and Ren the way he was killing it on the mic back then would of given cube some of his own treatment.
Shock Of The Hour was his best solo shit, he really had an attitude and that was some of the darkest sounds to flow out of speakers ever.
'Villian in Black' was dope too that kinda had a dark vibe in a boom bap kinda way.
'Ruthless fo Life' was a let down even he admits that.
That album with John Doe sounded like something made in a garage in a day with niggas clowning around drunk, that shit was weird.
That older shit he did with CPO to hell n black was ill and that ep 'kizz my black azz' had that crazy 'behind the scenes' track.
His verses and that killa flow he had on NWA is just bananas. He should start rappin with fury n speed again like how he ripped 100 miles n runnin. Also it would be the lick if he got another beat like 'Always In to Something' to rip again.
His last verses i heard was on the new Public 'paris' Enemy album.
-
I love that shit he did right after NWA, kizz my black ass, Villian in Black
hes dope as fuck
and even if Ruthless 4 Life was a let down, still had some mad ass trax on it like comin after u
-
damn...all this appreciating makes me want to listen to some of ren's albums. In honor of this thread we should hook a couple albums of his. 8)

in honour of this you can go buy em too :D
Ren was always my favourite member from N.W.A and I loved Shock Of The Hour, and more so Villain in Black album, the production by hutch and rens flow went hand in hand....too bad he doesnt drop much shit any more.....

His 4 albums were in the hook up but some immature dude blocked the links a while ago
-
Shock of the hour was real good.
-
The song "Ruthless Villian" with Eazy-E was the shit. It's on an Eazy-E cassette single containing "Eazy-Duz-It", "Radio", & "Compton's N The House/100% Diss (O.G. Version)" that I bought back in the day.
-
Ren needs some Dre style beats
when i heard him on Hell-Low
i was like :o
that's the Villian!!!
-
MC Ren is tight, wish he makes some kind of comeback and start bustin on these clones!!
