Today, I was at day one of the Watts festival. Bishop Lamont, Stixx, G. Malone, and Young Dre performed when I was there. I'd say that they all ripped it. Bishop went first, did about 4 songs and ripped em. He got a lotta personality in his show. I had only talked to him on the phone, but I met him today and he was real cool. He told me that he got the 4 songs I sent him, but that Dre shot them down so he won't be usin em.
Stixx is a rapper from Watts, he did a mixtape with Bobby Valentino and is performin a lot everywhere. I had heard a lot about him, but I hadn't met him until today. You could classify him as a commercial rapper, but not in the bad way that people usually associate people as bein. Hopefully the west coast can give him love, because he's from the middle of the gutter and he might even be from a set, but doesn't gangbang at all in his raps and doesn't sound like the typical gangsta rapper at all. I talked 2 him, and we'll probably hook up on some tracks before he heads out on tour.
Glasses Malone went after him, and he definitely ripped it. I think he sounds better live than he does on record. He did a sick ass verse acapella before he started off. He did 3-4 songs. I was trippin because it was a grip of crips and some bloods in the audience, and both sides were singin along to his tracks, especially on two hunned.
Young Dre went after G Malone. I had heard his name before but never heard him. I had heard his song "that ain't gangsta to me" before, and that was pretty hot. His show was banged out like a mafucka though, he had a GRIP of people from his set Kitchen Crip there, and some old ass bangers who looked hard as hell. LOL it was a grandma there who looked like she'd fuck up almost any dude.
Afterwards, I finally met Kam, and G Malone told him I did Therapy sessions. He slid me his # and told me to hit him up because him and his younger brother are workin on their albums right now.
This was the first day, and it goes til Sunday. On Sunday, Suga Free is performin, so I'll be out there again, and hopefully I'll meet him again. I talked to Jay Steez today and he told me that he is down wit workin on some tracks wit me, one for my album and one for his, so things are lookin good.

Yeah...the dopest beats I have are all taken already, and he wouldn't have spit on the main one because he knows the dudes that used it. But it's all cool, I am still suprised things have moved this fast.

Yeh just like you I hadn't heard much from Dre before ..but i was speaking with him on the fone and he played me some of his tracks and they were just outta here and crazy ..i know he is in talks with alot of labels so I hope dude gets his shine..1 track he did is just speaks on some of the truest shit I've heard in a minute and he has another with Pac..
This man deserves his props
Whats was his performance like man ..

Damm 4 real? It seems like he woulda had a much better chance in the 90s just because his style is 110% west coast gangsta, and I donno if that would sell as much right now. But his performance was good overall, hella energy. I think some of his songs stand out a lot more than some of his others though but I can tell he could make some hot shit.

thanx for the info man .. yeh dudes got some big plans I know ...ya'll defintely have to look out for Dre's music man .. he didn't get unsigned hype in 'the Source 'for no reason ..anyone else find it weird Game was rockin the kitchen crip helmet in 'playaz only'??

R.I.P. to that yungsta who lost his life today. If anybody can spit sum real gangsta shit about going toe ta toe let me know. I got studio time ALL DAY in Hollywood. get at me.
-
Good to see you're networking...sounds like you got some cool things lined up!
Too bad that your beat got rejected by The Doc, but don't let that get you down though. We all know Dre's reputation when it comes to music: dude's a perfectionist. Hey, obviously he even took time out to just listen to your beat...how many people can say that? I'd be proud as hell :)
Hopefully you & Kam will work together once more...perhaps for a song on The Self, that would be cool.
J Steez got heat man, it's cool to see that the two of you are in talks as well.
Keep us posted!

man, thats some great news, hope everything works out for you, your compilation will be tite as fuck im sure.

yea if Dre rejected the beats he mustīve heard them and for any producer that would be hella cool even though he rejected them :) good luck with whatever youīre doin and donīt forget to check back on dubcc once you blow up 8)

Yea, I am suprised that he even took time to listen to em, so I'm not trippin off of it.
If I ever did "blow up" I doubt it would be anytime soon, but even with that, I'll still be on here more than anywhere else on the net, talkin bout the same things as I do now.

Good to hear you're hookin' up with other rappers...if Kam & YB use some of your tracks that'd be off tha hook...but too bad Dre didn't want to use your tracks, but like CRAFTY said, he's a perfectionist so I'm sure tha beats weren't wack which I really doubt but I guess Dre just wanted to use something else...but keep up tha dope work man, "Therapy Sessions" gets a daily bump from me... 8)

good shit R Tistic, if you do get to holler at Kam again, find out when The Self is finally gona be released !? Been waiting almost 3 years now for it.......

I got two tracks with Young Dre on em; one with Mack 10 and Tru Life who just signed with the ROC called "We Them Gangstas", and then the track from the True Crime OST with Bishop Lamont and Guerilla Black. He doesn't use any multis but from what I remember he has some pretty sick punches. I need to listen to them again, though.
-
can u up tha joint wit him n mack 10 ..
I believe Tru Life is actually his cousin
-
Here you go homie. Off that Thug Life OST.
