A Long Good Friday - excellant film, superb by direction who ever it was, they created powerful scenes with minimum dialogue and action are stick in your mind just as much as when the paddys get rounded up in the abatoir or some of the over voilent scences.
the basic plot bob hoskins stars as a heavy weight in the london underworld who is eager to set up a deal with the american mafia in london docklands, but when the deal is to be finalised his crew comes under attack for unknown reasons whilst the search goes on to find out who after them bombs go off on his property and various members of his crew get killed. I won't say any more for those who havn't seen it otherwise it could ruin it.
as previously mentioned it starred bob hoskins other characters include Charlie from casualty, bricktop from Snatch and Denzel from only fools and horses.
I also watched Bugsy afterwards which i thaught i hadden't seen but after a while i started to recognise it, but this too is another classic I think i'm going to have to rething my top 5 mafia flicks to get this one in there.
