Yesterday he pitched 8 innings and let up 2 hits, no walks, no runs and struck out nine but didn't get the win. Houston can't score for him, if he was on Boston or Texas he would be like 19-4 if not better. That ERA he's sporting is insane, he's been simply incredible.

I know. I sometimes don't realize he's in his 40's
-
If he doesn't win the Cy Young that's gonna be some bullshit.

Games started = 24
Runs Allowed = 24
now thats some good pictching....youre right, Clemens is UNBELIEVABLE!!
-
Roger Clemens is having one of the best years a pitcher can have. Of all time!
-
fuck baseball

^^jerk^^

clemens is one of the best pitchers in the history of baseball I think. Easily top 5 of our lifetime.
-
I hate that peckerwood, but he's a helluva pitcher
-
yea, crazy shit :o
how in the hell does he get better as his hairs turn grey?
I doubt he is, but everyone else who got better when they got older were juicin it ???

Why do you hate him?

Chris Carpenter is going to win the CY Young this Year
Clemens might have the better ERA, but Carpenter is having an all round better year. Carpenter leads the Majors in wins (17), complete games (6), & most 1,2,3 innings (85 that's ten ahead of Clemens)
Take a look at the rest of his stats:
IP - 180.1
SO - 169
Record - 17-4
BB + HBP - 39
HR - 12
WHIP - .98
ERA - 2.25
Hits - 137
ER - 45
And when Carpenter went head to head agianst Clemens, Carpenter outpitched Clemens. There is no way that Carpenter can't win the CY Young if he keeps on pitching the way he is. At the rate he's going, Carpenter is going to get at least 25 wins. He was most deserving of an All-Star start than Clemens, & he's more deserving of the CY Young than Clemens.
-
It's very close between Carpenter and Clemens. Clemens is only really hurting in the wins category and it's simply because they aren't getting him runs. There have been five games so far this year where he didn't let up a run and he didn't get the win.
I'd give it to Clemens now if I had a vote.
-
put Clemens on the Cardinals and see how many wins he would have by now
-
Carpenter still leads more categories than Clemens. He is the ace that the Cardinals have needed for years now.

Carpenter has let in nearly double the runs, double the homeruns, and 30 more hits. If Clemens was on a team that could put up even 3 runs a game he'd have maybe 19 wins so far. Carpenter will have his time, but if Clemens won last year with his performance then he has to win this year. Carpenter will have his times.
Also I just checked the Cy Young awards list and Nolan Ryan is nowhere to be found. This guy threw nearly 400 SOs in one year back in 72 and he doesn't get a nod. That's bullshit. Clemens has the record with 7 Cy Youngs.

Clemens ERA is 1.32, Carpenter's is 2.25. Randy Johnson last year had the best year of any pitcher in the NL but because he didn't have the wins, Clemens (who had 20 or something like that got it). There aren't any good reason as to why Carpenter shouldn't get the award. Carpenter has more wins, strikeouts, Shout Outs, Complete games, wins, most 1, 2, 3 innings, & when he pitched against Clemens, he outpitched Clemens.
Even the sportcasters who say Clemens is having one of the best years since Bob Gibson, still say that they would vote for Carpenter.
