Before you ask where's the news...here it is:
The official Busta Rhymes site had uploaded the new Busta Rhymes track...
http://www.bustaonline.com/
and now.....
Be honest and detailed with your discussion. I've been thinking for some time how Dr. Dre wants to do somthing very differrent and creative for the DETOX sound, hence the title. He wants to leave a dent in music the way his previous two album did. Each Chronic album was musically differrent than what everyone else was doing in Hip Hop, and many started copying his style.
The things is, there have been many debates and delimas regarding how far Dre wants to take his DETOX orchastra. The pressure and hype is huge for this album. And most peoples expectations for this album is higher than the sky. There have been reports of Dre experimenting with DETOX to create a new sound in Hip Hop and music in generel. But when it comes to experimental creativity, there is a high risk of going over the audiences heads.
So my queston to you is...
If DETOX were a concept album, that was musically differrent than anything you were used to... would you be dissapointed, or would you accept it ?
Or would you want DETOX to just be a very dope album, with typical Dre production that you are used to?
Or maybe you want Dre to give you another Chronic or 2001 musically ?
What exactly are you expecting, or wanting from the DETOX sound ?
discuss :)

I'm sure it'll be tight, his career somewhat would get hit hard in a bad way in a lot of peoples minds if it sucked
he wouldn't wait so long to put out some bullshit, I just hope it's a new gangsta sound and filled with plenty West Coast artists 8)

DEXTOX will probably (most likely) have a way different but slightly same sound to it production-wise (wouldn't be Dre without the orchestra, noone would except it). Guest will probably be every1 on Aftermath/GUnit/Shady/BWS, just to build up everyone elses hype just like he did wit' The Chronic (Snoop/DPG)/2001 (Eminem/Hittman/XZibit). and maybe an appearance from NWA and quik but noone like Bishop Lamont or Mitchy Slick. I can imagine it would be somethin' like "A Day In California" with songs about sex/money/murda/etc (just to keep tha same remedy at a different angle). Then i wouldn't even doubt if people from Aftermath/GUnit/Shady/BWS would get kicked off tha label, just like Dre's always done. But other than that, DEXTOX will come out big at 1st and then die down in a couple of weeks, yeah i know it's Dre but IMO 8) , Dre prolly couldn't top wat he's done in the past, his bassline ontop of bassline with violense (fuck spellin) and pianos can't go too far. What album has in the past 8 years?
-
I'm sure it'll be dope...Dre hasn't really failed me yet with tha beats he's done...
-
that busta track is fire!!!
-
I dont know why people wanna label Dre as only a westcoast producer... yeah he started that way, but since has expanded to broader horizens and developed his own sound... why label it to a coast ?
-
^^ it's not that at all, it's just that if he does expand, it'll be flooded with some G-Unit bullshit

Not nessisarally, and even if he had G-Unit and/or D12 on there, Dre wont put out wack shit... he'll make anyone sound dope on his album... listen to everything groups like G-Unit and D12 sounded over Dre production.
But i understand... I'd rather them not be on the album, too.

This is a important album in regards to the way rap is sounding at the moment and hopefully sets a new bar for creativy within the music... Ye i hope Dre brings out something we aint expectin, that woz the whole idea Dre wanted when he first annouced it like 2 1/2 years ago, didnt he say Detox was goin to be the most techincally advanced music sound ever??
The only worry is that i think he will use the likes of 50 & G-Unit, somewhere on the album just so he can bring in that whole commercial side of the market buyers... My only main concern is that it doesnt dropp no latter then mid 06.... been waitin on this album for years now...

^Yeah I just hope it drops before mid '06...if it's got G-Unit on there I'm sure it'll be only 1 or 2 tracks...Spider Loc on tha other hand I wouldn't mind on more tracks though...

A real good producer gives a new sound, and everybody'll think "Hey, this sounds familiar but I never heard this before". Think of " Drop it like it's hot", everybody was like wow, but I wasn't unlistenable. Something like that'll be with Detox. You'll be like, I KNEW this sound existed, but Dre sets the new tone.
-
ya i willl as long as it comes out 8)
-
I think Dre will bring somethin new to the game and it won't be dissapointing, he always comes with some tight shit...
-
I remember Dre saying when he released the first Chronic he was in a corner and was under pressure and then when some of the best shit gets made. Well he was in a similar position just before he dropped his second solo atomic bomb. He's in that position again because he wants to outclass the original Chronic and make it one of the best albums of all time.. He knows his audience too well what kind of sound they like with his beats etc and a certain lyrical content...
Thats biggest challenge for DRE is devolping a new sound that he likes himself, the majority of his fans and people who dont normally listen to hip-hop go Woah hit the rewind button i wanna hear that shit again and again!!!
I hope we get a double album and remixes of singles like from the original Chronic thats one thing the Chronic 2001 was missing.
Guest wise i think he might hook up something special but it seems like it mainly be his roster of Aftermath artists like Eve, Busta, 50, Game..and other artists he been working with like Mary J blige.
It would be a real blessing if the Ice Cubes, MC Rens and unheard Eazy verses would be on it. Another blessing would be The D.O.C getting his writing back to form and lace Dre some killa ghost shit.
Wanna hear more Dre solos this time though and Dre should write some of his own shit like the dayz of wayback.
That surround sound thing he wanted to do like you hear a bullet whizzing by the speakers would be cool he could release specially formatted DVD's/CD's for that but would take even longer for Dre to mix and release blah blah
-
well if g-unit would sound like poppin them thangs on detox, doesn't disappoint me, I just hope he got Xzibit, Ice Cube, MC Ren, The Game, Snoop Dogg, Busta and kurupt on it
-
dre can make make something new but with the same vibe
-
btw, I believe that new Busta track at the top of this thread is produced by Dr. Dre
-
man dre aint dissapointed me yet. im sure it will be hot. if you ask me, i wouldnt mind something musically different. i mean, all i fucking hear is club joints on the radio and on tv and shit. this "get crunk" club shit every nigga doing is getting on my nerves. i cant stand that shit anymore. as long as it aint no club bullshit im cool with it. shit im wanting something new nigga. set a new trend in hip hop so niggas will stop making this candy shop, lil jon bull shit. for real though, dre going to come correct on detox. nigga always does.
-
With this much anticipation and speculation, its bound to be a letdown. Dre's fault.
-
dont worry it will be dope.
-
If by early '06 and Dre aint feeling what he's got so far, for his rapping reputation, it might be better to drop the whole project. Everyone is expecting this album to be just as good as his last two, and that expectation could be too much.
I think he needs to find a new artist who can set the album a-light on 4/5 tracks, some-one new, fresh and inventive. Of course he needs to get a few old faces too like Snoop and Nate too.
I wouldn't mind seing Kam and Tash scattered about on the album, but I'm sure he'll go for rappers on the Aftermath/G-unit roster, and that could be what harms Detox's success (if it does ever arrived on the shelves).
-
I'm a little skeptical about how the album will turn out. I guess I'll have to wait for it to drop.
-
There's always the chance that the serious overhype will kill the album's quality, depending on what cats are expecting. As long as Dre does most of the tracks and they bump, I'm happy.
-
That new Busta Rhymes track is OFF THE HOOK. SMooth Gangsta jazz shit 8)
-
i want something DIFFERENT !!! if it is concept different, but still sounds good, then fuck yeah i'll accept it and buy that shit...
-
Dre better release something fresh coz the rap game is BORING N WACK.
-
There's def gonna be mad G-Unit shit on Detox so its gonna suck. I'll buy it but only for the 2 or 3 good songs that have WEST COAST flavor to them. Fuck 50 Cent, cop a Ja Rule album and educate yourself u sap suckaz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
nice feed guys... keep it commin' !
-
I just hope Dre uses co producers such as:
DJ Quik - All too perfect for the album
Warren G - Need I say more

J.R. - Good chemisty
Sam Sneed - "Keep Their Heads Ringin'" is all I need to say, perfect for the DETOX sound
Focus - Good chemistry
Nu Jersey Devil
Kanye West - Heavy bass, orchestrated beats, hi/screwed voices, would be perfect

Battlecat - Westcoast songs ONLY
Sha Money XL - the beat on Rn'G was perfect for a Dre mix
Just Blaze - would be interesting to hear
The Legendary Traxstar - "Adrenaline Rush" sounded so perfect for a Dre mix also
Phonk Beta - Always wanted a Dre and Lynch track
Rick Rubin - 99 Problems was tite
The Suave House - did some classic shit wit' Ball n' G
Hi Tek - "Runnin' (The Game)" was the best "West Coast" beat in a long time

X Zibit
DMX
Three 6 Mafia (DJ Paul/Juicy 'J' only)

Ludacris - would be iight
Paul Wall - somethin' laid back about bitches
David Banner - same as Paul Wall
Kanye West
T.I.
Sam Sneed
The Hot Boy$ (Juve/Wayne/BG)
