Title: is he or is he not signed 2 aftermath
Post by: trouble shooter on August 30, 2005, 08:10:52 AM
less than one year ago, ice-cube announced he was signed to aftermath and his name was on dr. dre's roster of team players. now, there is no mention of ice-cube anywhere on aftermathmusic.com

cube plans to release an album, but is not on any current release projects by the am family. did cube get burned out with all the dick sucking politics on who gets to suck dre's dick for his time! as brooklyn says (ex-aftermath artist) holla if u feel me...

#1 - aftermathmusic.com is NOT official

#2 - hes not signed, he wants a deal, the deal with dre didnt work out but i beleive they will work together when he settles on a deal.

Jesus christ... They dont just push back release dates because they think its fun, or the right thing to do. They push release dates for countless reasons, such as: album is incomplete, album isnt good enough or they dont believe it will sell due to lack of radio play, delays in distribution, delays in production, delays mastering,etc.. If youre investing $10 million on an album, you best believe they are gonna make sure when that album is released, it goes platinum. And Cube never signed any deal/contract with Aftermath, he doesnt owe the label an album or anything like that. They tried to work out a deal with Cube, he didnt get the deal that he wanted, so it didnt work out. It had nothing to do with Dre, or any of the artsit on the label.

I'm pretty sure Cube wanted a big peice of the pie, and Interscope didnt want to cough up the $. Simple as that

I read somewhere on this site that Cube got back with Priority when his deal fell through with Dre. I could be wrong though.

Yea, I forget what show it was on but Cube was interviewed and they asked him bout his new album and he said its bout 80% complete, just puttin' the finishing touches on it, he said he had worked wit Lil Jon and catz from the east coast like Swiss Beats, but no metion of Dre.
