Villa land Dutch defender Bouma
Defender Wilfred Bouma has completed a £3.5m move to Aston Villa from Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven.
The 27-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Villa Park club after passing a medical on Tuesday.
Bouma will now join up with the Dutch national squad for World Cup qualifiers against Armenia and Andorra.
"The manager David O'Leary was a massive reason for me signing for Villa," said Bouma. "He made it clear that he believes in me and my ability."
Speaking to the club's website, he added: "That gives me confidence and that's important for me.
"I had a good feeling about Villa - they have a history of being a big club and the people I have spoken to from the club were all very helpful. that's why I chose Aston Villa."
Bouma helped PSV reach the semi-finals of the Champions league last season.

Good signing for Villa, made some decent signing this season

Yeah, after Laursen being ruled out for months, it was only wise to sign some-one with vast experience.
Good signing.

you would be sucking his dick if he played for AZ

Very true, can play in a few positions didn't he start out as a left back/left midfielder before being played as a centre back?

i've always found bouma an overrated player

Bouma makes alot of mistakes :-X See how all the dutch people in here say he's shit ;D

Im pleased with the signing. Hopefully we'll see a solid Mellberg-Bouma centre back partnership form over the coming weeks. Shame we couldnt hold on to Solano but Milner will do a good job down the right im sure.
Our summer signings:
Milan Baros (£6.5m)
Wilfred Bouma (£3.5m)
Kevin Phillips (£750k)
Patrik Berger (free)
James Milner (loan)
Aaron Hughes (free)
Eirik Bakke (loan)
Sturt Taylor (undisc.)
good work in the transfer market by DOL, experience and quality braught in for under £11m. Solano and Hitzlsperger are the only players i regret leaving, but we could be set for a good season now with what we've braught in.

Bouma sucks just because he came from PSV Ajax for ever. :P
