Just saw this Kanye Interview on E!Pass and he said that Late Registration is def. one of the best produced albums of all times :o ??? well i think its better than yayo's cd but one of the best produced albums of all time iunno bout that one, wow he was soo cocky with the explanation too he needs to come back to earth or he could fall down while riding his own high like snitchy cent fom Grodt to Massacre

I think production wise it's great. Tracks like Crack Music and Gone are really layered n shit. I like it.

The album's really nice and all that, but c'mon... The production really isn't that great. It's got a great vibe to it, but nothing more than that.

A lot of people always miss the point went they judge production. Production is not composing melodies; it's adding to melodies, guiding records, and setting a tone. A producer takes a song and makes it darker, or happier, of stronger, etc. Kanye West is obviously a terrible composer but so is almost everyone in hip hop. That isn't the point. The point is he is a producer, but in my opinion he's just an overglorified studio technician. Anyone that knows how to remaster a song can do what he does. He takes old songs, loops them, and speeds them up, all the while cleaning them up to sound more current. That doesn't make him a great producer. A great producer is someone like Daniel Lanois who takes a bare U2 album and gives it ambiance. A great producer is Quincy Jones who knows how to hand pick an album from 90 songs and cut it down to under 10, and make music sound timeless well before it was supposed to. A great producer is Brian Wilson, who can make the most absurd sound magical, and really knew how to clean up a track well before the digital age. A lot of production was tricks you had to learn and do better than anyone else. Now it's all digital. Go to any tech school and you'll learn most of all you need in 2 years. You couldn't do that way back when. Even by Kanye's standards, to say his album is anywhere near the production level of Thriller or Dark Side of the Moon is just another joke coming out of Kanye's mouth. Too bad he isn't trying to be funny.

man, i downloaded that probably a week ago....and still havnt had the urge to unzip and listen to it, i liked college dropout, but i doubt this is going to be classic

To quote MC Ren "If Dre didn't do it, I can't fuck wit it!". I've never heard Dre, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg or whoever had a great, classic album ever brag about it. An artist can't hype his own shit - only the fans determine what is a classic and what is one of the greatest produced albums of all times is. I sure Chuckles or Knuckles whatever it is will put Kanye's new album in the top 10 albums of all time! That list was bullshit just like Kanye's comments are!

Musically i would say it is one of the best produced HIPHOP albums of all time because he's pushing boundries with his shit. No doubt Kanye is a great beatmaker, he's one of them dudes that makes niggas step their game up after they hear his beats, he should really drop an instrumental album or some shit. There's plenty of great beatmakers in hiphop but not many great producers, thats what makes Dre the GOAT because no-one can make a track sound like he does, niggas like Dre make a song what it is.

i liked college dropout, that had some nice cuts... but late rego is the same shit, just not as good, beats are too cartoonish, they dont sound real... i like him but i wouldnt put him in my top 5 producers...
i cant stop bumpin trauma on the other hand... that shit is off the hook. 8)

I agree with ya. I've been playing them both alot but I find Trauma more enjoyable.

i got ladies n thugz played in my club tonight.... all i can say is :o :o :o that shit cranks in a club 100x better than fandango, if that doesnt get the crowd movin then nothing will.... fukn dope. 8)
