A few years ago, Ice Cube announced to the world that he was teaming up with Dr. Dre to devise his comeback LP. That record never materialized — however, Cube still does have a super producer in pocket: Lil Jon. Jon says he's recorded seven new

songs with the West Coast icon and is helping him to land a home for the project.
"On the Crunk Juice album, we did 'Real N---a Roll Call' [with Cube]," Jon said. "I grew up on N.W.A — N.W.A and Too Short were my favorite groups. So to just be in the studio, and for him to listen to me and let me guide him, ask me what I think ... I still can't believe I'm cool with Cube like that, 'cause that's Ice Cube."
Jon says the new Cube sounds a lot like vintage, early '90s Cube, from the AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted/ Death Certificate era (see "Ice Cube Pushes Back Album Because Of 'XXX' Movie"). According to the King of Crunk, he and Cube already have a song they want to release to the public soon.
"We got the first single, it's Ice Cube and Snoop, called 'Got a Lot of That,' " Jon said. "As soon as you hear the beat, you gonna start dancing. And he's got this song called 'Combat' for anybody who does any type of sports — like if you play football, it's gonna get you amped up to get in the game. We're looking for a label — holla at us. We're going to probably put a record out and let the labels come to us."
Jon's been in the lab with Too Short as well. "Short is like 'Uncle Short,' " Jon said. "Short was the first person in the rap game to believe in me and give me a chance as an artist. I was signed to Short's label and he let me out of the contract with no problems — he let me do my thing. Plus, he was always there for me whenever I needed him to get on some records."
Short's new LP is looking like it will have Jazze Pha producing half of the tracks and Jon doing most of the rest.

I'll check it out but I don't think it will be any good.
-
I'm sure Cube will come with some heat..and if he changes back to the amerikkkas moss wanted era...on the new school beats, that will be str8 fire...i hope his album won't be like xxx movie. I trust Cube...anyway i'm waiting more for a WSC album than Cube single...
-
sounds interesting.. course we'll check it.. :)
-
I'm dissapointed that it ain't Dre but imma cop it for sure
-
evn if theres just one dre record il cream
-
cool ... tho dre should hook some beats for cube, ..cube should holla at Sir Jinx, Mark Sparks, Rick Rock to produce some shit for his album
-
Lil Jon can make tight beats (i.e. Bitches Aint Shit)... just as long as he doesn't repeat himself trough the whole album, i think it'll be tight...
-
lol at the comments about goin back to amerikkas most wanted, death certificate era..when the next sentence is..."We got the first single, it's Ice Cube and Snoop, called 'Got a Lot of That,' " Jon said. "As soon as you hear the beat, you gonna start dancing" Yeah i really remember those albums havin club/dance tracks..... ;D

lol some of yall is just haters. lil jon is annoying when hes yelling YEAH WHAT OKAY all in the background of songs. but yall cant tell me his beats dont bang. as long as he dont talk on this track im coo with it

I aint got a problem with lil jon's beats just when he raps.
-
this has the potential to be hot
-
It could be tite, but obviously I'd rather have a West Coast sounding Cube album. As far as the Too Short album, he's alreayd been doing this, and that album sounds tite, even though I'd rather have an Ant Banks produced album.

man wtf his beats on atg are bangin...

I ain't gonna judge til I ain't heard some songs but lol at jon saying Cube gonna be back in his early days. Didn't Pharell say he gonna bring Snoop back to the Chronic days with R§G ::)
-
Until you hear these 2 tracks don't be ignorant and say " Oh cause Cube is with Lil Jon, the album with suck." Yeah if Lil Jon is screamin every 2 seconds, yeah that'll be annoying, but if he does it like "Grande Finale" or "Shorty wanna ride" he'll just put great beats over the artists. Don't judge if you haven't heard the first single yet.
-
until now I luv all the shit that they did together
-
Haters? hahaha please... i cant see NOBODY growin up listening to Ice Cubes first albums liking this Lil Jon/Cube collabo, to me its superwack....i dont wanna hear Cube doin club music period. Yall that feel this must have been Cube fans since War/Peace albums.
Peace

ALWAYS willing to hear some new Ice Cube mterial. Though Lil Jon ain't the first person I'd think Cube could match with, I think it could come off real tight.
Lookin' forward to DubCNN bringing me that track ;D 8)

man fuck that shit he shoud do something with west coast producers fuk lil john that muthafuka is wack all of his beats sound the same. yea im saying cus lil john is producing it the cd is goin to suk. the only reason cube is doing it with lil jon is because thats wut hot right now. get the fuk outta here with that bullshit

Im not gonna hate on this, I got nuthin' but luv. As long as Cube brings us another album Im gonna support it to the fullest.
At least he doin' songs wit west coast cats like Snoop on his first single and not havin' his first single wit some1 like Lil Scrappy! That right there is a positive message to me that he not goin' completely Southern style wit it!
-
I hope this is dope

thats how u feel....cant knock that... but whats the difference between the route cube is takin now 2 what dr dre was doin...
they did basically the same thing...only difference.. dre went from techno/club 2 gangsta..n cube is goin gangsta 2 crunk..
people was singin the same story bout cube when he left nwa...when got wit hank nem..he didnt lose a step...
cube showed me sumthin i havent seen from in him in damn near 10yrs on lil jon's album..jon brought the fire out of cube..out of all the west coast cats jon has worked with...cube n e-40 the only 2 that fits his formula...
jon dont always scream n yell
the old cube died on lethal injection....

they always be saying some things like..."oh this new album, we're takin it back to old school" and when the album drops, it turns out to be some bullshit...
-
Looks like we gonna get more 'We Be Clubbin' 'You can do it put ya ass to it' type party songs.

I can't say I grew up listening to his first albums, but that's definately the Ice Cube we wanna hear. Fuck doing songs like "You can do it". Ice Cube should retire from rapping, he's from a age that's long gone. I don't want him to ruin his legacy any more than he already has. In 2005, I'll even doubt a Dre/Cube collabo album, let alone putting him with that wackass Lil Jon.
-
i'll fucks with it
shit, me too :D It's nice to see Snoop on the 1st single...
-
Cube + Lil Jon = :-\ :'(
The 2 Ice Cube/Lil Jon tracks that have been heard are tight as fuck. I expect the first single to be a first class banger.
