There is this "sound" i guess u could call it, that is signature thruout many westcoast songs...I think it is some kind of gituar riff which sounds something like "WOW wowowowo!" there is one of them in Cypress Hill's "Through The Eyes of a Pig", Tupac's "No More Pain", Three 6 Mafia's "Land of the Lost" Spice 1's "Murder Ain't Crazy", S.C.C.'s "Niggas Git Dealt Wit", Bone Thugs' "Look Into My Eyes" as well as in many other songs. My question is what is this sound called (if it has a name), how is it made (gituar??), and what other songs (besides those i have just posted) display good examples of that sound?

when it all comes down to it, the west coast sound can be perfectly heard in most DRE songs. Some may disagree. Personaly, the old G-Funk sound wit tha whisles and Synth bass will always be my west coast sound. I can never forget that sound. damn, them was the good al' dayz.
So yeah, The west coast sound to me is all in how you play tha bass. lol.
PEACE

;D
The west coast sounds is like G Funk with the whistles and the bass. I associate the East Coast sound with samples and grimy beats even though now both coast have intertwined their sounds a little.
