Today at KingzRecords in West Covina, Watts emcee Glasses Malone announced that he has deals on the table from Jay-Z and Def Jam, Sony, Geffen, Capitol and a few other major labels. He's still undecided as to what he wants to choose, but which ever he chooses, is only a step up for the West Coast.
Also in the house today was T-Mac of the Young Hoggs, Wallet, E.Mills, Dubb, Kontraversy and the Mill Ticket Ent. family, 818 emcee Hecktick, Javy Lopez, Blu Leaf Clothing and others.
You know where you hear it first! DubCNN!
Big ups to Glasses... I wish you much success homie! The New West Movement is movin'!

yo I thought Glasses was Black Wall Street? if he ain't an artist of theirs, what's their relationship?
-
Thanks for the news!
Out of all the emerging MC's from the West Coast, I've gotta say Glasses is my most anticipated. I can't really put my finger on it, but there's something about him that makes him stand out as a rapper.
Speaking of Def Jam, and Watts, have you heard of a guy named Dro who’s from Watts and signed to Def Jam? Dude is amazing as well.
Anyways, HUGE congrats go out to G-Malone, Any news on the new mix tape? I can't wait for that shit too!

Good to hear that those labels are looking at him...like you said it's a good move for tha West Coast...it would be interesting if he went to Def Jam but whatever label he chooses, as long as he still comes out with dope music like he always does, it's all good... 8)

They are still on the same good terms...if he signs with another company, he will still be under Black Wall Street because he has his own division under them...the Blue Division.

its good to hear...havent heard any music from glasses...but this can only be a good thing....i only hope he isnt getting ahead of himself

Wow...I didn't realize that his mixtape created - obviously - such a big buzz in the industry. It is a tight mixtape of course, and like Woodrow said, he's definitely become one of my most anticipated artists. There's just something about him which makes him stand out...don't know what it is. His flow is good, good lyrics, his voice is not annoying to listen to AND he reps the West Coast...what more do you need? 8)
I could be wrong, but I'm not sure whether Def Jam would be the right choice. They've proved in the past that they can't market/promote West Coast artists (Jayo Felony, Dove Shack, Warren G, etc...and more recently: W.C.). Perhaps now that Jay-Z is in charge of the label, things will be different, although if I was Glasses, I'd never sign to Def Jam right now since that's taking a pretty big risk. I'd go for a more stable record label...

fuckin dope

Damn cool for Glasses. Hopefully he gets his business right, whatever label he chooses.

That's what I was thinkin...and not only that, but the last few acts Def Jam has put out have flopped. Rihanna, Tierra Marie, and a few others haven't really sold shit since Jay got there.

shit Glasses and the whole BWS should try to hook up with a company that doesn´t distribute that many hip hop acts coz the 2 best companies right now is Interscope and Atlantic and their starting to get hella crowded. Def Jam should be a fucking no-no coz look at their track record since Jay and LA got up there, the artists that has sold would´ve sold just as many units on any other company(Jeezy,Mariah,Kanye). Jay has already proven that he can´t sign and develop artists and make them sell.
-
Def Jam wouldn't be a good choice, Jay is a horrible CEO Flops : Young gunz, Bleek, Rihanna, Tierra Marie
Sucess: Kanye, Jay has nothin to do with it. Plus didn't Rihanna and Tierra Marie albums drop the same week as Kanye, what a commercial scheme, unless it was to hide these flops behind Kanye huge numbers

Just as long as the labels are willing to put up money to promote him then its all to the good
Best of luck to him

^True on that...but whatever label he gets on, I'll be supporting him 'cause I know he'll still be making dope music... 8)
