I'd have to say Warren G...his albums have always had that laid-back, type of G-Funk sound...Nate Dogg come close for me too...
-
WARREN TO THE MOTHAFUCKIN G.
Eternal damnation to all those that disagree.

-
WARREN G
"G-FUNK, WHERE RYTHM IS LIFE, AND LIFE IS RYTHM 8)..."

Snoop.
He's a G-Funk addict or at least he was until the neptunes, Justin Timberlakes came along.

In real life he still in Jail? He needs to be producing them ill beats again.

The thing that u dont understand is that Gfunk aint necessarily ''laid back'' u suffered of lack of information during all these past years bro" anyway where is cold 187 in all that?he's like the K piece of the puzzle &he ain't even mentioned, lmo!
I also wanted to say this:
as pac said I'm bumpin G-Funk, but you can call it what you want that sentence says all,sum ppl want call it westside sound other dont even got a definition(im thinking of the bay area rappers). The matter regarding this confusion or should i say misdefinition is much more about ''where u live'' &''what hood/gang u repin'' i think yall got my point.
to finish 'bout Gdub hes sampled soul stuff when he blew up to regulate the market, not much funk stuff so his type of gfunk was ''laid back'' with N8te on the hooks & at the same time that was the only dude claiming he was doing gfunk music along with snoopy wearing Gfunk tshirts n all that( i mentioned those ones coz thats the cats who sold many units worldwide).
i think the confusion went with Gdub finally.
gangsta rap, gangsta funk,westside... ,same shit man as a matter of fact everybody or at least 80% of rappers sample funk bass lines & are r.a.w on the mothafuking beat.
& concerning the Bay area from what i know since they started their shit they've always revendicated being different than L.A cats..that make sense ;D(so they have brew up their own &unike sound with BIG AZZ synthesizers n all dat,....own sound)
aight,im out, too late lol.

^LOL, true...but I was saying that Warren had that feel to his style of G-Funk...my bad, I put it in tha wrong words... ;D I knew I was forgetting someone (Cold 187um) when making this poll, but I just put in tha choices that I came up with 1st & I didn't think of all tha possible ones I could put...

Warren G
-
i personally think of Above The Law.. then Warren G
-
Warren G
-
warren
-
Above The Law.
i heard them say it before warrenG
-
I'd say Warren G....
even though his style is often more "jazzy", and Big Hutch might have originated the sound, tha G-Child is just it for me.
And DJ Quik too of course....
-
Warren of course
-
No contest, Warren G IS G-Funk.
-
Warren G , for some reason G-Funk instantly reminds me of "Regulate"
-
Dr. Dre, Snoop, Warren G & Above The Law
-
Dr. Dre first and foremost.
-
WARREN G
"G-FUNK, WHERE RYTHM IS LIFE, AND LIFE IS RYTHM 8)..."
-
Warren "still" G-funking 8)
-
THa G-Child no doubt
-
Of Course It Is Warren G , No Doubt...
-
warren g...then above the law
-
Dre. His G-Funk is perfect for me, atl's is kinda noisy and warren's always laid back.
Chronic/ Doggystyle g funk beats > *
-
When I hear g funk I think of dre, daz, warren g, and above the law in that order.
-
REGULATORSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
