DJ Quik returns from a 3 year solo album hiatus to release his latest album, "Trauma." Many of you will have already heard the singles on the radio and have some idea of the musical direction DJ Quik went on this record. Once again he takes the westcoast sound to a new level, one which pushes boundaries and challenges opinions on how sounds should be interpreted. The album is fresh, funky and innovative, something which fans hold DJ Quik in high regard for. He does not disappoint on a record which slides smoothly through genres yet still at its core outlines the love and passion DJ Quik has for Hip-Hop. If you still need convinicing of a reason to purchase the album check out the tracklist below and some audio as a temptation! After that please go support the time and effort he has put into the album, you the fans, craved.

Doctor's Office
-
I don't think there are any album fillers but Catch 22 is def. the weakest song on the album. Wish he would of swapped that with either Total Auto or The Maze or pretty much any of the new songs of the Trauma mixtape. But that's just my opinion, I don't think Catch 22 is a bad song just weaker than the others.

Doctor's Office

None, but Til Jesus Comes is the weakest song
awww man u gotta be kidding me? til jesus comes is a banger!
-
album was soft.....Fandango is an "In da Club" rip off..
-
catch 22 is a BANGER. the drum beat hits HARD in a system. and that up right bass played with a bow is just :o
the only track I skip, is Ladies and Thugs. it's not a bad song. but it sticks out place from the rest of the album for me.

damn i thought the opposite... Ladies & Thugs had one of the best beats on the album imo... that shit hits HARD

The drums hit similar but that's it. To me...the B2k remix with R. Kelly from 2003 sounded JUST LIKE In da club, and so does this one song from some Black group from England that I heard a few times. Fandango's vibe and instruments are nothin like In da club.

Hell yea, it gets crazy at some points, its intense

I don't know why people think Fandango sounds like in the cllub anyway. The horns and guitars immediately separate the two tracks. Now Fandango does sound a little like Lil' Kim's The Jump Off.
I don't think this album has any fillers, every songs hits. The worst song is probably the one with Wyclef, I don't remember the name of it. It's still a decent song, if it was on Under the Influence, it would be one of the better songs on the album.
-
i would say fandago is my least favorite song on there but it fits the album, it's all good.
i can't believe all the hate this album is getting on non-westcoast message boards...
-
fandango and Ladies & Thugs can't stand those 2....... every otha song i like..... dope album i'd give it 4 outta 5..... i'd still say it'z quik's worst album doe but i still think it's dope......
-
I only listened to the album 1 time, but I do remember catch 22 being a straight BANGER. I really liked that song, thought it was real creative.
-
This is the most refreshing album I've heard in years. I'm not gonna hate on anything, it's all dope. Shits on everything out right now.
-
I don't think there's any. I listen to it front to back.

THAT jodeci shit is weak as fucc on me,fandango that beat go hard, and i think the drum patteren is similar to in the club, but that's a nothing really, the beat on indescritions is hard, don't care about the raps at all, till jesus comes, cuzz i thought that would be better by the way muthafuccas pumped that shit up but i wasn't feelin it,catch 22 listen to that joint a couple of times will change yo mind on it,i didnt like it at first but it grew on me,but i must say sound wise this is the best album that came out this year, his mixing ear is excellent, sound wize shit is a classic, but as a whole 3.75 outta 5 thats some honest no bias shit yell
-
Fandango and In Da Club similar? ::)
they sound completley different.
-
Intro For Roger - 8.5/10 Sets the tone for the album, an angry Quik venting over a raw beat.
Fandango - 9/10 Weve all heard it, we all know it's nice.
Til Jesus Comes - 9.5/10 This song is just so intense. The beat is angry and the lyrics are on point.
Black Mercedes - 9.5/10 This song has hit all over it. Nate sounds the best he's ever sounded since the Chronic. Of course it won't be it hit but it has the formula.
Get Up - 9/10 I fuckin love this beat. The horns and guitars give this song a new age funk feel
Get Down - 9/10 Chingy's verses are damn nice. Quik should produce everything Chingy drops from now on.
Ladies & Thugs - 7/10 It's a decen song but not on the level of the rest of the album. I expected better from Wyclef.
Catch 22 - 9/10 Quik putting his feet in this lyrically. Understated production make his lyrics stand out.
Back of the Limo - 8/10 Cool laid back joint Quik is known for.
Pacific Coast Remix - 10/10 fuckin amazin....the original was damn good but htis is better. Quik's lyrics are waaay better, the horns make the song thicker
Quiks groove 7l - 10/10 :o the last 3 quik's grooves have been unbelievable. Hearing Jodeci again, hell yeah. I was a Jodeci fan back when.
Jet Set - 10/10 - Again fuckin amazing, everything about this song is perfect
California - 8/10 - Nice way to end the album.
Overall I give it a 9/10. This is conservatively the best album in the last 2 years, with classic potential. What I love about this album is how seamless it is, everythign just goes together, the theme of the album is maintained with each song. Also, this is by far the most personal album DJ Quik has ever made. This album has a much more raw feel than lets say Rhthmalism but it is 100X more polished than Under the Influence. I'm sticking with 9/10 rating, I don't want to jump the gun and prematurely call this a classic, but I am defintiely blown away by this album. The last time I was this blown away was from the "Stillmatic" album.
-
none, every song is dope
-
It's a good album and all but you guys make it sound like it's an Illmatic.
