After years of collaborations and two albums with Westside Connection, SOHH.com has learned the group has split and Mack 10 and Ice Cube haven't spoken in nearly two years.
A source close to the Mack 10 told SOHH.com the reason behind the beef between the former west coast partners.
"Westside Connection is pretty much over," says a SOHH.com source. "He [Mack 10 ] hasn't talked to Ice Cube since that [the last West Side Connection LP] project ended - both him and Dub C. Basically Ice Cube didn't want to go on tour [to support the record]. It was a business move that went sour."
The trio comprised of Mack, Cube and Dub C, released their first album, Bow Down in 1996 and their sophomore album, Terrorist Threats in 2003. Meanwhile, Mack is moving on and is prepping the release of his 6th solo album, Hustla's Handbook for September. "Like This," the LP's first single featuring Nate Dogg recently began spinning on radio stations across the nation. The album also features guest appearances from B-Real of Cypress Hill, Butch Cassidy and Hoo-Bangin artist Red Café among others.
Mack 10's Hustla's Handbook is scheduled to hit stores September 27th on Mack's own Hoo-Banging/Capitol Records.

What do they expect? Ice Cube ain't got time to even make his own albums anymore, and he makes one with them, but that ain't enough. How long does he have to turn down multi million dollar movie deals to record half-ass albums with them? How many millions does he have to lose before they consider him a friend again?

i remember reading that a while back, and sohh TOTALLY ripped it off of the DUBCNN interview -- there was no "source." honestly it amazes me that people take things that it reports seriously. they're a fucking rumor website, and a bad one at that.

No, but I got a fucking brain. He gets paid several million dollars to star in each movie he does.
When he releases an album, anymore it barely goes platinum. Even if every one of the albums was sold for 12 bucks, that's 12 million dollars for a platinum album, then you have to pay everybody.
OR, you could just film a movie, make several million, and live like a fuckin' movie star. No concerts, no writing, hell nothing creative at all required from you except to show up, and read your lines.
Then they wanna bitch that he wants to make movies? FUCK I WANNA MAKE MOVIES! Everybody wants to make movies, *THEY* WANT TO MAKE MOVIES.
-
^Yea, people gotta see that, starring in horrible movies requires a lot less effort than making great rap-music. AND it makes more money.
-
yeah but with movies you get paid no matter what. in music you gotta sell millions just to break even & be comfortable.
sad that theres no more Westside Connection
-
cube is about making major moves.he helped wack 10 and wc by putting another westside connection album out. why is wack 10 hatin'.
-
Oh well, it was good while it lasted.
-
