EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) - Forward Corie Blount, who played for the Los Angeles Lakers from 1995-99, has signed a partially guaranteed contract with the team, spokesman John Black said Monday.

Blount, an 11-year veteran, most recently played for the Toronto Raptors and Chicago Bulls during the 2003-04 season, averaging 4.4 points and 4.0 rebounds in 62 games.
"It's a good opportunity for me to come back here where I basically know what to expect from Phil," Blount said, referring to Lakers coach Phil Jackson. "I played my first two years for Phil in Chicago."

The Lakers begin training camp Tuesday at the University of Hawaii.

Ehh

He was a mediocre player when he was with us in the 90's. I don't know what he can contribute now. We might as well had kept Brian Grant, were it not for that luxury tax hit.

If I was a Laker-Fan, I'd kill Mitch Kupchak. It would be so painful. Die hard shit.

Wow, aren't we a little too sassy today, young lad? Have fun with Bynum, Brown, Blount and McKie making the difference to last season nevertheless. I predict ~42 wins. Mark that.

Only thing is that were not losing anything by signing Corie Blount...He'll only provide a veteran big body in the frontcourt who'll come off the bench to scoop up some rebounds and block some shots for 10-15 minutes...I woulda' prefered Kemp, but something is better than nothing...PeACe
