Title: Preview Brian Wilson's new Christmas Album
Post by: Trauma-san on October 06, 2005, 11:54:13 AM
This guy is so funny.  This summer, when he was touring, he would play christmas songs and shit in the middle of the show and tell the audience "Merry Christmas!" (In July).

Anyways, apparently he recorded an entire Christmas album around the time, and you can preview 5 songs on his webpage.  His voice sounds fucking incredible, I don't know what they're doing too him but the kool-aid must be working.  The harmonies are great, the arrangements and productions are Classic Brian Wilson.  Great album so far... I like the surf version of "We Wish You A Merry Christmas", and Brian singing falsetto again at the end of "Noel".

Also, he ended up donating 200 grand to the hurricane relief funds, matching the 200 grand donated by members of his webpage... he promised them if they would donate 100 bucks, he'd match it, and call them on the phone, lol.  The stories are hilarious, he'd call people, they wouldn't believe it was him, and he'd hang up, then call back later.  Silly stupid shit like that.

Check it out!

They only had 1 album, the most famous song on it is "Little St. Nick", it's a very famous Christmas song that's pretty cool.  They also wrote "The Man with All The Toys", both of which Brian covers on his new album.

Santa's Beard
Merry Christmas, Baby
Christmas Day
Frosty The Snow Man
We Three Kings
Blue Christmas
Santa Claus is comin' to town
White Christmas
I'll be Home For Christmas
Auld Lang Syne
Lords Prayer
Child of Winter (Christmas Song)
Santa's got an Airplane
Christmastime is Here again
Winter Symphony
I Saw Santa Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree

Brian's New album has

The Man With All the Toys
Little St. Nick
What I Really Want For Christmas (new)
Christmasey (new)
God Rest ye Merry Gentlemen
O Holy Night
We Wish You A Merry Christmas
Hark The Herald Angels Sing
It Came Upon a Midnight Clear
First Noel
Deck the Halls
Auld Lang Syne

I don't think people realize what a special person this guy has turned into.  Look @ what I just found on his message board.

Message:

Dear Brian, I am the mother of a 6th grade student at McMillan Elementary School in Salt Lake City, UT. Thank you for your generous donation of $15,000.00 towards our schools Katrina Relief Fundraiser. With your added contribution, we will be presenting the American Red Cross with a check for almost $49,000.00 on Friday. The kids are so proud and excited. Friday will be Beach Day at the school, with all of the students wearing their beach attire. Thank you for the free CD's that all of the children will be receiving on Friday as well. Your donation and support is very appreciated. Thank you for putting smiles on all of the students faces and helping them feel proud for their accomplishment. Sincerely, Wendie Hale
