he´s not credited in the booklet ???
nope

I remember Dre left Death Row, saying he was always going to give people proper credits, unlike what Suge did. I don't know why Nate isn't credited for these songs. Was Nate signed to a label at the time, or did he get paid in another way for doing these songs? I'm pretty sure there must be some story behind Nate's credits for them two songs.
-
thats weird, coz kurupt is credited for background vocals...
-
I'm sure he would of got paid so I don't think he cares.
-
anpther thing i realised... you know the "what up dr. dre" line after the intro on chronic 2001 ? i always thought it was kurupt, but its tray dee.

you can see its him as hes in the video and the vioce is clearly kurupt
-
its X and tray dee in the the intro, the guys talking about the hopping lolo
and right at the end of that track (so right before track 2 begins) its KURUPT saying "what up dr.dre"
theres no doubt about that - any1 thinking something else gotta be stupid or having NO CLUE (at all) about westcoast rap!

b-please wasn't on a Dr Dre album or label, it was on Snoop's project on No Limit.
as for 2001 intro... Definitely Xzibit & Tray Deee then Kurupt..
as for "credits in booklets" they are NOT a legal document like some people treat them, neither appearances NOR samples _have_ to be creditted _unless_ the person specifies they must be creditted as part of the agreement.
"you can sample us as long as its creditted " etc..
this is why samples aren't always listed.. coz they dont have to be!
album credits, samples etc are often last minute things and often contain mistakes and errors etc..
Take a look back at your older classic albums.. most of them dont even list who is featured on songs in _any_ way.

as for the lolo intro, it is kurupt at the end, but the actual intro is x and tray deee
nuff said on that, im still confused bout the nate dogg situation ???
-

I think Overseer stated it very clearly. The booklet isn't a binding legal document - sometimes credits get fucked up in the liner notes. That doesn't mean that Nate didn't get paid his publishing credits, tho. Obviously he did, or otherwise he wouldn't be on pretty much every album that Dre has ever produced since 1992.
-
just thought i'd add that i personally can't fault ti being on quik's album. he's popular and comes off the on the song nicely. overall a dope track.

He probably didn't write what he sung, that's why he hasn't got publishing credits.
-
Yeah and its not like Nate did work where Dre can say "oh, thats not Nate, he didnt do anything."
Its quite clear that Nate is on the track

Just listened to the intro, definately sounds like Kurupt.
-
I get the point about credits never being "official", but why do they add names like Xzibit to the list of featurings, as well as add Kurupt to the credits as doing "background vocals" where Nate didn't even get mentioned. They must've totally forgotten about him when typing out the credits. That's rather strange.
-
lol @ this thread. who cares. nate dogg said like 9 words is each song
-
We care, obviously. And the reason we care is that its absolutely unneccesary to have incomplete credits and that the politics behind making credits are sometimes barely understandable.

oh you have my deepest apology. i had no idea you felt so strong on this issue...
...i know you cant see me, but im giving you the middle finger right now
-
as i said i always thought it was kurupt until i read the credits the other day and tripped...
-
Tray Deee is talking in the background with Xzibit and then Kurupt says "What up Dr. Dre"
