Title: Best New Talent
Post by: Jome on April 14, 2002, 07:44:10 PM
There's many new youngsters out there, I picked a few, who yall think is the best? Choose only ONE, and there's a reason that Crooked I isn't among them.

Roscoe
Royce 5'9
Pharoahe Monch   (Not exactly new, but very promising)
Sixx John
Eastwood
Bad Azz   (Been around, but haven't got a break-through)

Choose only ONE

"Hi, my name is Royce, I'm the King!"

Royce without a doubt. Been holding it down for a while, finally getting some airplay! You know there's something good about him Em has to step up incase he gets outshined. Just listen to his lyrics, he has a few wack cuts like any rapper, also has a few dope ones.

wack: rock city, the one
dope: boom, nickle nine, renegades original

"Freeway"

Yo he ain't the tightest Mc out, but he's out there & has been ready to blow up for a minute now.
He's on almost every mix tape out (East Coast...I got homies over the net....who keep me up to date...lol)

I think homies the next thing to blow coming outta the ROC.
Love em' or hate em'...That joint with Beenie is a head nodder for sho'.

My pick for future star and someone to watch:

"Freeway"

Peace

I would have to say Royce. I been getting into him lately and i think his dope. He comes off really tight on Renegades OG real lyrical heat. I think he has got dope lyrics from what ive heard of him so far. I agree that rock city is wack  but how can u say his wack with lyrics like this:
''I'm the verbal-spit Smith Wesson
I unload with sick spit the quick wick could split a split-second
Bomb with a lit wick expression
You here a tick tick then you testin..'' - Boom

Royce. Basicallly out of all the ones listed he's the one that has impressed me the most. "Boom" is a perfect example of what he can bring to the table.

Definitely Roscoe. I just like him, he's young and raw, got a dope flow. And plus he's the best out of the ones you listed, I cant stand Royce

West Coast: Tray Deee(though hes not new hes barely droppin his own shit.....he will revolutionize the west and the game)
South: Paul Wall(has to be the coldest white boy on the mic....hes not on some eminem shit or some bubba sparxxx shit.....hes got a pure southern style but the boy got lyrics...)
MidWest: Short Nitty(hes not new either....hes in the Rogue Dog Villains....who are associated with TechN9ne ina major way...hes got a good flow....he will pop up sooner or later)
East Coast: Shabaam Sahdeeq(not new..hes been grinding in the under for a bit...but hes coming out...he will rip up almost any emcee...jadapiss, prodigy, memphis geek...etc.)

even though i knoc-turn'al really irritates me a lotta ppl seein him as the best new talent...

in my opinion roscoe deserves the attention knoc is gettin cos he is ten times betta IMO but then knoc is workin wit dre so what do u expect?

royce da 5'9 is pretty gud...but i wouldn't say he's the best new talent at the minute...

I think Jin of 106 is gonna blow up!! He got a tight label under him to help him wit his shit!!! I also think that Knoc will blow up cause he got Dre under his production!! So either Jin or Knoc!!!!

Nice to see people recognizing Royce & Roscoe, but I'm surprised to see so many people sleeping on Pharoahe.

what's the reason we can't say Crooked I?  Most of those artists you listed have been around a couple of years longer than Crooked I, plus Tray Deee has been mentioned a couple of times and he's been around since 94.  So fuck it, I'ma say Crooked I cuz he's lyrically on the same, if not higher level than Xzibit

HE SAID PICK 1 OF THE 1'S HE MENTIONED, ARE U HOMIES REALLY THAT DUMB!

[shadow=red,left,300]Roscoe - just unstoppable! dope flow and he is hooked up with Kurupt and Tha row and row is getting better! [/shadow]

Royce 5'9 - my runner up, although is VERY wack....alot of dumbass eminem fans (no at this forum) will say eminem is good, so royce must be good too and his album is hyped up but....it also has been delayed

Pharoahe Monch - been around for a while and has had too much great shhhh....not too much attention on him although he is dope

Sixx John - hyped up but no recent news on him

Eastwood - rhyme killah, is very ill but not compared to Crooked I

Bad Azz - been around and his album is suppost to be 4-5 /10 so im not looking foward to that, and like phaoroah, has been around for a while and hasnt got much attention, i dont see him getting better :( :o

Peace - KSC

well Royce probably is, but I think Bad Azz deserves way more props than he's actually receiving.  He's been around for ages, appearances, own albums,  just not gettin his respect.

peace
