I think that really did happen because if you see him on Pimp My Ride you can see a scar on the left side of his face on the side of his mouth going down to his chin

it did happen, quite a while ago. Eminem made a refernece to it in some song tlkin bout we gon find dude who did that to Xzibit, and Game referred to it 'you gon do me like Xzibit and cut half my face'.
