THE SEVEN TEAMS THAT CAN WIN THE 2006 NBA TITLE
1. San Antonio
Loaded team, phenomenal bench, resident superstar on hand, tons of confidence ... why couldn't they finish like 74-8? Who's stopping them? I feel like every Spurs loss would be an accident -- this is the most stacked NBA team since the '97 Bulls. I can't even think of anything interesting to say about them.
2. Detroit
Playing with a collective "We can win without Larry Brown, just watch!" chip on their shoulder, which makes them exceedingly dangerous.
3. Indiana
Love the team, love the chemistry, love the coach. But here's my big question: Game 7, Eastern Finals, down by one, 20 seconds left, Indy has the ball ... who takes the big shot for them? Who steps up? Are you really happy with Artest taking that shot? What about Stephen Jackson? The Lithuanian? A fallaway from Jermaine O'Neal? None of the options make me feel that good. I'd rather go with the previous guys.
4. Miami
I think they missed their big window last spring. We'll see.
5. Dallas
The best bet to sneak into the Western Finals and get shellacked by 20 points a game.
6. Phoenix
Let's say they manage to hang around .500 past the trading deadline ... and Amare comes back right around March Madness ... and he rounds himself into shape by mid-April ... and they end up being a seventh seed. Would you want to play them? Me neither.
7. LA Lakers
Never understimate the danger of Mamba (Kobe Bryant). You know, the mamba can strike with 99 percent accuracy at maximum speed, in rapid succession ...

And all the coaches and GM's in the league voted him as the player who they'd love to have in their team to make the last shot. But cluth doesnt necessarily have to be a last second game winner Antonio... Jordan putting on 10pts over the final minute and 8 seconds for example to lead to a win is cluth, Reggies 8pts in like 3 seconds or whatever is clutch etc...
obviously Kobe is RIGHT up there in terms of "clutchness", but still, not the best yet... has a chance to be the best though...

The only thing about the list thats funny is, at least half of the league analysts out there dont think LA will even make the playoffs. And of those that think they might make the playoffs...most pick them as a lower seed, being bounced out in round one. Ill give the Lakers this...they have the capability of being better then expected. A Championship? lol NO. But better then last year for sure. Thing is, people arent expecting much from them...which is an advantage for them.

I, personally as a fan, like to keep myself optimistic. I see potential in the Lakers. No one thought Phoenix would be anywhere near contenders last year, and look what they did. And they did that coached by Mike D'antonio...I believe, and if some analysts have picked the Lakers to contend, that gives me even more reason to believe...PeACe

Where did you get those facts?
Jordan -> from a book of him. Some say he made 28 winning shots, some 25. The most accurate seems to be 25.
Kobe -> in a message board, they had them all listed.
About him being the leader of the 4th quarter scoring i remember it from a couple of Lakers games i've seen on tv.

Horry is indeed clutch. Remember, he was on my squad for 7 years. I would know...But Kobe is undisputedly on another level. To compare Horry to Kobe is insane. Horry is not only a great clutch player. He was been the best team defender i've ever seen. The player with the best basketball IQ i've seen in Lakers. He was been a great player, and a great reason why we won the championship. If you ask me, when we didnt sign him signing Malone instead of him, i was almost crying because Horry > Malone for them Shaq/Kobe-Lakers. I love Horry. He's as clutch as Kobe, but the difference is that Kobe really steps up in the 4th quarter. He can win a game alone in the last 12 minutes. More than Shaq. More than everybody in the league. Nobody is a better 4th quarter player than him. No questions about it. But Horry, i got nothing but love for him. Horry, Fox, Fisher, Harper, Shaw, Lue, George.. i love them all.

im still not comparing them as players. but as clutch players....Horry had alotta clutch plays and most in playoffs or championships. i aint saying kobe hasnt...but Horry did a hell of alot in those crucial moments...and he was pretty damn consistent...as players Kobe > Horry no doubt. but thats not my opinion. so i have a clue what im talking bout. specially when it comes to clutch player...i been a Reggie Miller fan since i was 4 yrs old =D thnx
