Terrell Owens was suspended indefinitely by the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday, two days after he criticized the organization for not publicly recognizing his 100th career touchdown catch two weeks ago. The star receiver apologized Friday in a statement and later on his weekly radio show, but the damage already was done. The Eagles issued a statement that said Owens was suspended "for conduct detrimental to the team." The team added that it will have no further comment. This is the second time Owens has been suspended during his controversial 10-year career. In 2000, he was suspended one game by San Francisco coach Steve Mariucci following his infamous touchdown celebrations on the Dallas Cowboys' famed star logo at the center of Texas Stadium.

T.O. just looks for trouble. Philly fans are going to turn on him quick if they haven't allready. About the only time I will ever stick up for Philly fans when they do turn on him/ if they haven't already.

Torry Holt>>>>>>>>>>>>TO

T.O. got in a fist fight with his teammates :o

no doubt TO is one of the best WRs in then game(def not the best though) but this blockhead is just too damn cocky and he deserves to get his ass suspended
-
Micheal Irvin is the only guy who keeps agreeing with TO & I think it has to do with TO being a WR. Anyways Irvin is one of the worst at his job before he started agreeing with TO & lost all credibility.

ESPN.com news services
It might not have been just Terrell Owens' fighting words that led to his suspension from the Eagles.
It seems a fistfight also contributed to his being banished indefinitely.
A team source told Mortensen that Douglas, whose post with the Eagles he re-titled "bad-ass-ador," entered the team's training room Wednesday and announced "I know there are people in here faking injuries." The comment apparently led to the scrum between Owens and Douglas.
One source told the Times the fight "was like WWE Smackdown." Another source told the paper both Douglas and Owens threw at least two punches before Owens challenged quarterback Donovan McNabb and then everyone else in the room, saying "You want some? Anyone else want some?"
The scrap is just another incident in a week of unrest that led to Owens being suspended indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the team on Saturday.
Early in the week, Owens apprised Philadelphia officials that he had sprained his ankle in last Sunday's loss to the Denver Broncos, and might require some time off. One day later, he was back at practice and seemingly prepared to play against the Redskins.
On Thursday, Owens blasted McNabb and the organization in an ESPN.com interview which spurred a Friday meeting with Eagles coach Andy Reid.
On Friday, Mortensen reports, Reid gave Owens three stipulations: Apologize to the organization, the team and to McNabb.
McNabb told ESPN's Suzy Kolber he called a team meeting Friday, which Owens attended, to discuss the team's unrest and pronounced to all, looking at T.O. directly, "You're either with me or against me."
Owens' apologies in private to the club and in public on Friday apparently did not meet Reid's standards and T.O. was suspended on Saturday.
According to the paper, Owens and Douglas have been at odds since training camp where they almost got into an altercation in an elevator at Lehigh University. Douglas was among the few players to publicly say Owens should honor his current contract when T.O. demanded a new one this past offseason.
The Eagles declined to comment about the bout.
In seven games this season, Owens has 47 catches for 763 yards and six touchdowns.
This is the second time Owens has been suspended during his controversial 10-year career. While a 49er in 2000, he was suspended one game by San Francisco coach Steve Mariucci following his touchdown celebrations on the Cowboys' star logo at the center of Texas Stadium.
Information from ESPN.com senior NFL writer Len Pasquarelli and The Associated Press was used this report.

That sucks for people who drafted him in fantasy leagues
-
I agree with owens on one thing...Eagles would be undefeated with Favre ;D
-
I don't see why saying Favre is better than McNabb warrants an apology. It's like John Stockton saying if we had Shaq we would have won a Championship.
Owens is a big time player who gets the job done at clutch time. McNabb is not. End of discussion.

He might cost me a win this week but I can still pull it out if James has a good game tomorrow.
T.O. and Steve Smith have been my big duo at WR this year, hopefully they trade him to Green Bay. :)

Has anybody heard of the footballoutsiders.com type of stats?

TO got suspened for critizing the team for not celebrating his 100th TD, critizing McNabb, & for getting in a fight with Hugh Douglas. I think that the Eagles are like most people just sick & tried of TO opening his mouth & saying the bullshit that he says.
No team in the NFL wants TO, he can completely destoryed his value out on the market by being a horrible teammate.

TO is an idiot

lol check out T.Os power...
taken from foxsports.com
Several players, most getting treatment, tried to separate the pair, but Owens started throwing those players off of him to get at Douglas again. laugh

So the guy's a little cocky, big deal. San Fran wasn't going anywhere with the system they were running, and Philly isn't going to win a superbowl with McNabb, ever. If Favre was on the team they would have won last year, and if TO goes to Green Bay the packers will step up huge.
The NFL is full of punks, they just need generals to keep them in check. Favre could do that with TO, McNabb can't. Should McNabb have to? Maybe not, but either way McNabb doesn't have what it takes to win the big one. He buckles under the pressure, TO doesn't.
If I were an owner or a coach, I'd rather have a guy that won't shut up that gets the job done rather than a great guy who fucks up in the clutch.
Philly's the kind of team that wins because of defense McNabb gets all the credit. It's been like that for so long. It's disgusting. Nobody gave BRad Johnson all the credit when Tampa went far.

TO has been suspended for 4 weeks & Andy Reid has said that TO will not be back with the team when the suspendsion is over. TO has now been Keyshawned.

Good. Maybe he'll end up on Green Bay.
P.S. Keyshawn is doing great on Dallas. He's on pace to break his touchdown mark and as many yards as he's ever gotten.

:loser: hahaha...... football is a team sport; to isn't a team player! whatever team picks up t.o. should really think hard about what they are getting off the field as well!

If he goes to Green Bay he'll have to deal with Favre and Favre will put him in his place, then he'll throw him some perfect TD passes.

T.O NEEDS TO GET SENT TO ATLANTA ASAP.

now that wud be sumthin worth watchin ;D

T.O NEEDS TO GET SENT TO ATLANTA ASAP.
I'd think you'd see the same problems there you see now. He'll go there and him and Vick will start off as great buddies and great teammates but then after a few plays where Owens is open and Vick runs instead T.O. will start ragging on him and they'll end up in a a big fight. Owens need a QB that won't hang out with him off the field and won't take any of Owens shit by giving double the shit right back in a stronger way. But he also needs a stand still QB who throws first and throws fast. A guy like Marino or Kelly were back in the day. Or he needs a guy like Joe Greene or Jim Brown on the team. A guy that'll kick T.O.s ass in the locker room at half time just to shut him up.
-
the guy's an idiot
-
His career is probably over. He MIGHT be able to come back in a few years when he swears he's changed and a team takes a chance on him.
-
the guy's an idiot
The guy's gone beyond being an idiot years ago.

That obviously wouldn't work. Micheal Vick is barely has a completion % above 50, so there's going to be a lot of bitching by TO. Vick also has a tendncy to only throw it to the TE & if he isn't open right away, Vick is taking off. Another thing TO would bitch about. Another thing, Vick can't or won't or doesn't like throwing to his right side, that's where TO usually lines up, so he wouldn't be getting the ball as much as he would like. Another thing TO would be bitching about.
The Falcons owner has said in the past that he would never have TO on his team cause he doesn't want that kind of perosn in his locker room.
Think before you say something like TO needs to go to Atlanta because it obviously would end worse than it has ended in Philadelphia
