For all you Boondocks fans out there, hopefully you caught the first show. While I am not a big fan of Regina King doing Huey and Riley's voices, I do have to say the show seems to be heading in the right direction and it will only take timing to get the timing right and it to find itself wit htis witty and sometimes offbeat political humor. But a few people just couldn't wait to sound off on the show. Of course many right wingers are a little peeved at the constant barbs at President Bush throughout the history of the comic strip so you know they aren't very pleased with the idea of a show. There is even a www.citizensagainstboondocks.com website coming soon!

On the other side of the coin, Najee Ali (best known for her recent protests against the 50 Cent movie billboards) is getting set to lead a protest of the show's liberal use of the N-Word.

"The N-Word should not be used by anyone," says Ali. "I can't and never have supported anyone using the N-Word. In Aaron Mcgruder's case, there can be no exception. The N-Word represents of our horrible past, a painful reminder of slavery. When black people were lynched, that often was the last word they heard as they hung from the rope."

Ali also says that this will leave the door open for other animated cartoons to use the word. It's no the first time Aaron McGruder have come under fire but one has to wonder why it's such a big deal? Dave Chappelle dropped the N Word several (thousand) times and nobody said shit. So what does Aaron McGruder have to say about this? "I Think 15, 16 years after the advent of Gangster Rap, young white kids have heard the word 'nigger' before. And they've said it maybe a few times. I'm not sure. So if they start saying it all of a sudden on [November 7th], I refuse to take responsibility."
