I was lookin at the standings tonite, not really to see who stands where, but just to have an idea of who has a chance of doin what. From how I saw it, there are no teams in the west that would really have me shocked if I saw them in the playoffs. If anybody would suprise me, I'd say it would be New Orleans, Golden State, Portland, or The Clippers, only because of the Clippers history and not because of their current team.
Does anybody else feel the same way, or would you be shocked at seein any of those teams in there?

id be surprised if Portland made it
-
NO/OKC

I chose New Orleans because they flat out suck, Portland because well, they're the Jailblazers after all. Even though Clippers have gotten off to a fast start, but they're still the Clippers.
-
Portland has no chance

Portland, Oklahoma >:( and Golden State will probably have the worst record out of those, if that's what you're asking :D
-
^^I dunno, Golden State is on an uprise...
New Orleans/Oklahoma City would surprise me, although they should have a nice team in a year or two with that developing backourt of JR Smith and Chris Paul, as well as Desmond and Nachbar at the forward spots, PJ Brown at center, and Speedy Claxton + Chris Andersen off the bench...They'll improve as the season progresses, but I'll be really surprised to see them in the playoffs...They're currently lacking a true impact superstar, though a few names on the team have potential to be just that.
Portland, well, they'd surprise the fuck out of me...As of now, I don't even see them as a team. They're devoted to a "youth movement" which (hopefuly, for them) means they should be good in a few years. But now it's a catashtrophe. Zach Randolph is their leader, so that can't be a good thing. They do have some promising names in Sebastian Telfair, Travis Outlaw, Jarret Jack, Viktor Khryapa, Viktor Khryapa, and Martell Webster, but most of these players are not ready to truely compete at an NBA level as of now. Maybe they will be the first team to grow in the NBA as a whole and actually become one of the better teams, but as of now, I'd be REALLY surprised to see them anywhere near the playoffs. Even if Darius Miles finally does have his breakthrough season and becomes a star, I see them a decent young team tryna establish themselves at BEST...
Seattle is overrated. The only reason anyone would pick them to make the playoffs is because of their last season. But they're a completely different team, and for the worse. Don't get me wrong, they have a nice roster and will be a decent team, but I know AT LEAST 8 teams in the west have one that looks even better. And Bob Weiss? He's not the type of coach who can miraculously get a sub-par roster into the playoffs...Nate did that shit with ease, but Bob just won't cut it...I'd be surprised to see them make the playoffs, although they might be in contention come April.

Lakers, coz kwame brown aint jesus, so yeah lakers

New Orleans and Portland would surprise me if they made it...the rest I think have a good chance of making it for the most part.

LMAO@5 votes for the Lakers and 1 for Seattle...

If either team from LA made it, it'd suprise me. But if I had to chose just one, the Clippers becuase they are the Clippers. Fast start don't mean shit during the 2nd half of the season.
