Title: I downloaded a movie, but how do I get subtitles?
Post by: mauzip on November 10, 2005, 05:19:12 AM
Yesterday I downloaded a movie, but since my German isn't all that I need subtitles. How do I fit these in? These are the files that I have:

[Ondertitel NL] Der Untergang CD1.srt
[Ondertitel NL] Der Untergang CD2.srt
Der Untergang CD1.avi
Der Untergang CD2.avi

Thanks.

you need a program like bsplayer and you need to open up the subtitles once you opened the movie.

Ive been doing that, don't remember how exactly lol, I know that I had to name the subtitles shit like the movie was named, so in this case youd have to get rid of that "[Ondertitel NL]", and I did it with that standard windows media player. Whatever lol. I googled that shit up

Yup. Use a program like bsplayer to play the movie in, and be sure to have the .srt files in the same folder as the movie files, with the same name (so Der Untergang CD1.avi and Der Untergang CD1.srt). BSPlayer should automatically load them up, if not, press S to enable them. With BSplayer, you can also adjust the subtitles, in case they're not too well synchronised.

www.bsplayer.org

I get my subtitles from www.nlondertitels.com but that site only has dutch subtitles. Just a small google search goes a long way when you're looking for subtitles in different languages though.
