I see people wearin' chucks everywhere these days...now tell me, how they get so popular? and why do many rap artists like Snoop Dogg and Mack 10 wear these beauties? ???

everyone in so. cali has always been wearing them same for:


nike cortez classics
adidas shell toes
chuck taylors


in bakersfield the cortez's are more popular, but chuck are probabably a close second....it's been like that for years too

The crips and bloods made them popular (blue chucks for crips, red chucks for bloods)...They're gangsta shoes, so everyone thinks they gangsta if they buy them...

Yeah... if you notice.. all the "Rap Artists" you see wearing chucks are from the West Caost.. You dont see Puffy and Jay Z wearing chucks... It's a West Coast thang.

When I used to skateboard they were the best things to wear (until the custom skateshoes like airwalk/etnies/DC/globe etc came out). They were popular for 2 reasons 1) because they are relatively cheap 2) they have a thin-ish sole and give a good feel of the board under your feet.
