Post by: KVB on April 08, 2002, 06:46:45 AM: As y'all know, Nas' "Illmatic" is one of hip-hop's finest albums lyrically AND musically... and I ask y'all.. what song had the finest musical production on this classic... my two cents go for the brilliant (DJ) Premier production "Memory Lane (Sittin' In The Park)". This is song is the definition of hip-hop: An exquisite, beautiful, brillant & unbelievably catchy Premier beat (which I think was his best production ever) paired with Nas' flawless lyricism/mechanichally smooth flow makes this a definite hip-hop classic...

I know "The World Is Yours" & "Represent" came close... put the pure music vibes "Memory Lane" spreads to the listener simply hypnotizes me...

What is your thoughts ?

The song got Nas his deal, without it he might not have been able to drop illmatic at all. The song was initially featured on the soundtrack for a movie called 'Zebrahead'.
It was the 3rd track he ever released.

He put out a couple of albums, nas even appeared on one of them. His name is Olu Dara.
