Prodigy Calls Nas A "Milkshake"... Again, Says Mobb Deep Can Work With Whoever They Want
Mobb Deep takes the mantra "All for one, and one for all" to heart. As recent additions to 50 Cent's G-Unit squad, Prodigy and Havoc have already taken shots at The Game and Nas. SOHH.com recently sat down with one-half of the duo to discuss why.
"I got beef with everybody that don't like me," says the Queens native. "I don't give a fuck about none of those niggas out there. Anybody that got beef with 50 Cent got beef with me. That's the King... Mobb Deep-G-Unit!"
As for the beef with Nas, Prodigy said that's over.
"There is no real beef with Nas," he said. "We call him Milkshake. Milkshake's not even no competition no more. We respect him though, because he's from around our way."
50 recently said he had a moratorium on Dr. Dre working with The Game, so what does that mean for Havoc who has produced for both Jadakiss and Game?
"Hav can shop beats to whoever he wants to," explained Prodigy. "We could still do ads for [clothing company] Southpole, it just doesn't make sense. It's about what is going to make the most money. Hav works hard for those beats. Should he give a beat to someone that isn't going to do nothing with it or someone like Eminem or Dr. Dre for The Detox? Niggas come around with the right check they can get a Hav beat. Matter [of] fact, the right check might get you a verse from P."
Beefs aside, Prodigy is excited about the duo's new album, Blood Money, which is slated for early next year.
"There are no guest artists, just Mobb Deep and G-Unit," said the rapper. "It's gonna be crazy, we're changing rap music. We're making some more history. Hav did 90% of the production on the album. We're making history though, in terms of money being spent, the lyrics, the way it will be promoted, the products we're putting out-everything."
While some Mobb fans have questioned the wisdom in moving away from their independent stronghold toward the controversial G-Unit family, Prodigy begs to differ.
"We eating off this Mob Deep shit," he said. "We just getting the audience that we want now. We not going nowhere no time soon. Fans we had from The Infamous and all our pre G-Unit albums, we love them, but it's a fact our fan base now is bigger and there are a whole lot more new fans, millions of them.
"We are just getting started," added Prodigy. "There are nine million more people out there, we want those Eminem sales. We know about the demographics: 80% of hip hop audience is white, 6% is black. Mobb Deep been had the hood, we got the hood. It's the white consumer that we haven't had. We had them a little bit, but we want that audience Eminem got, 50 got, Dr. Dre got. That's why we say we just getting started. There is a whole new generation that Mobb Deep can reach."
The duo is so focused on their new set, Prodigy says he didn't even follow the Murder Inc. money laundering case.
"If it ain't got to do with my team, I don't give a fuck to tell you the truth," he said. "For anybody to beat a case I feel happy for them because I don't like the system, the government, none of that. It's good to see another black man win a case."
Mobb Deep's Blood Money will be in stores on March 21.

naw P and Nas been having problems on and off for about 5 years. y´all didn´t hear Nas airing P out on Destroy and Rebuild? and Mobb Deep was at Nas' Central Park concert but Lake fucked that up by robbing P backstage so that shit bloomed up again(but after that Lake and Nas started to beef aswell).

i heard destroy and rebuild for first tyme 2day...i thot they got a long tho for 2 reasons: that song by mobb deep which nas was featured on, apparently dissin 2Pac; and then cause of the whole beef with Jay-Z both sidez had.
so why were they beefin in the first place?

i really don´t know coz they used to rock togheter. i guess Nas and them just got tired of defending someone that´s not even from QB. Littles even went as far as sayin that Prodigy is actually from the Hamptons originally and that his family´s rich lol. i never really paid any attention to the beef when it started so i haven´t got a clue as to why it started. Nas says that P was talkin shit behind his back and that everytime P got robbed The Bravehearts would get his shit back but i don´t know. and there´s always 2 sides to every story so i wouldn´t take Nas word for it.

ive only just recently started listening to Mobb Deep and everything ive heard so far has been impressive
Havoc comes up with some great gritty beats to match the mood of the songs. Ive been bumping 'Nightime Vultures' the last few days aswell.
anyway, i hope signing to G-Unit wont make them come out with some club/weak/girlie tracks just to sell a few more records.
i hope they keep it street and keep on doing what theyve been doin.

hmm have you heard their last 2 albums? they make that club/weak/girlie shit already. man i´d be so fucking happy if they´d bring it back to the style they had from 94-98.

ive only got 'The Infamous', 'Hell On Earth', 'Murda Muzik' and 'Infamy'.
theres a couple of tracks on Infamy that i dont really like, but everything else is fire
i assume your talking bout 'Amerikaz Nightmare' which ive heard isnt like their earlier stuff
but i agree....................the albums they were doing in 94-98 were classics IMO, and i hope they come out with that same sound

Mobb acting real stupid again.
No, Prodigy acting real stupid again.

You should check it, because it's way better than Infamy.
There's not a single "weak/girlie shit" on there as they say, save for a track or two aimed at the clubs.
-
 these guys are as lame as they get
-
yea amerikaz nightmare is dope...hard songs up in that cd...
