Agreed. I think it got hyped up too much before I saw the movie. It's decent, but nothing great.

Yeah good film
It's was never really intended to be a horror film, the director is an Australian bloke who based the film on an amalgamation of true stories on backpacker murders that have occured here. The film was actually banned in the NT (where it was filmed) as the highly publicied Falconio V Murdoch case was going through final proceedings at the time.
Wolf Creek was actually made on a low budget of just under $1mAU and did reasonably well here at home, but for some reason the movie just took off overseas especially in The States and ended up making millions in revenue. Following their success they've actually already started making a follow up to it in Victoria called "Rogue" with some US film producers funding it this time so it's set upon a higher budget...but i don't know how effective that'll be. I think it's meant to be out late next year
