How come people hate on this album ?
Is there even a weak track on it ? I dont think there is , I can listen to all the songs.
I dont even know which track is my favorite , theres about 5 or 6 that are BANGERS !!
"Relax Ya Mind" is my shit tho ;)
-
I agree with all of what you said homie
-
I've been saying that for ages. Take A Look Over Your Shoulder is Warren G's most consistant album. Everyother album he has ever put out have at least one track I dislike, but Take A Look I'm able to listen to from start to finish.
The only problem to me was there were very few tracks that blew my mind. It's stil my favorite G Child album tho.
-
its tha only album by warren g i dont have, i have never seen it in any store
-
I love this album, i dunno why people hate on it anyway.

Me too... a good album, though not some of Warren's best work.
-
One thing is sure, "Take A Look Over Your Shoulder" is mad underrated. It is one my my alltime favourite cds.
-
Mad slept on. I loved this album! Slammin trax.. back to back. IMO.

I think Warren G said it himself that the album was a flop . A sophomore jinx .
But I just figured out why the album didnt sell that good or got much attention is because it came out on the same day as ............ *drum roll* .............. Biggie "Life After Death"
too bad for WG , wrong muthafuckin time to drop an album :-/

Good argument... :-/

I think dropping "I shot the sherriff" as a single was a bad idea, people were expecting another "Regulate", so I guess they just didn't buy it.
Personally I picked that shit up the day it came out. The version we have in Canada has a different cover, and isn't enhanced tho. :'(

Warren's albums all get major play in my stereo. I think he loses a little somethin' every time out, but every one of his albums, especially the first 3 were straight heat. And "Take A Look Over Your Shoulder" should have been multi-platinum, that album was some of the best shit to drop in 97.
-
i dunno...i din"t really like "take a look..." it waz warrenz weakest effort imo...i would take any of hiz other three over "take a look..." any day.
-
I love that Album from beginning to end.
Transformers is tight.
And I also like the line from Jayo Felony on Young Fun
"I rather die with my eyes open, so I can see how these
mothafuckas wanna do me, they set me free"
love that Line!

Take a Look Over Your Shoulder is by far Warren G's worst album, and is the only one I dont love. I think that the songs are way too commercial and pop sounding, and that he abandoned the whole gangsta, G funk sound. The only songs that I think were any good are "What We Go Through", which is amazing, and "Annie Mae". I think the rest of it is forgetable.
-
it´s a DOPE album...you can listen to it without skipping a track...like all warren g albums.
-
I aint never heard it...dam
-
that shit is tight, it has dope songs. I hated "i shot the sherrif" but in europe the song did very well.
-
its tha only album by warren g i dont have, i have never seen it in any store
same here
and infini, take a look.... IS multi platinum
2.7 million to be exact
-
EASILY Warren's best album, a start to finish g-funk ride. Maybe my favorite album of all time.
-
i always thought this was some of his best work...anything after that cd i haven't really enjoyed, peace.
-
His 2nd best work!

i could have sworn, warren g said it went double platinum.
but yeah, picking i shot the sherrif as the first single was a bad move. that remix with the reggae beat would have been better.
and being released on the same day as BIGGIE ::) doesnt help much either. especially since he passed away right before
-
album is pretty good... apart from low spots like I Shot The Sherriff.
My fave on their is 'Back UP' (feat K9 and PC) ... dope shit.. that bassline is tight
