Yo, I just got this new ipod with 30 gig. I have a question. Does anyone know if there is a car accessory for that allows me to play my stuff from Ipod to my car. I know there is a cassette thing where you hook it to the ipod to car stereo. Is there a cd disc that connects to ipod?
-
haha no cd disc. its either cassette tape, or u have to buy that thing where it wires into ur car system directly. i think called ice link or some shit.

I use the cassette adaptor but if you got a CD player then you need the iTrip or FM modulator.
-
i got a lil device that works a treat
its called ipod "airplay" (illiegal)
and it east ur battery
but anyways....
it works like so
u plugit onto the top of ur ipod and u find a station (on ur car radio) thats dead and no music etc etc and then u keep it on that and then u put the same station onto the air play and its done

itrip? what's that>? and what's fm modulator do?
-
itrip/fm/etc
you plug them ontop of the ipod and it plays the stuff on your ipod through an unsed fm station. Lower quality then playing through a cd but still good. run around 50$
The best is if you can plug your ipod in through an aux port. Usually only aftermarket cd players have them.

i wish i had a cassette tape. :'(

word. thats another good way. When I get some cash I'm buying a new CD player with ipod and satellite radio capabilities.

yeah, apple.com tells you what companies/cars are putting ipod read systems in their cars.

all volkswagens bugs come equipped with ipod shit wired in already. my old neighbor used to have one, and she could just plug her ipod in. bmws are also compatible with ipod shit now too.
yeah i forgot about the i trip , i have one of those but dont really use it. my friend has a monster fm adaptor and that seems to work better though. the thing i dont like about itrip and other fm shit though is that the audio tend to drop in quality when youre travelling around, and sometimes the radio signals arent as strong or whatever, or if your'e driving into another city, and there is a station on that empty frequency you were using earlier, u gotta change and shit.. i dunno , i just didnt really have a good experience with that. but why did someone say it was illegal ?
-
its not illegal, but you can alter it to make it illegal
-
the fm thing for me sucked, i cant stand the low quality, id rather burn cds...

all new alpine headunits have an option for IPODS, i have my car hooked up like that, you need a Alpine Headunit plus the KCI Adapter that charges and connects the ipod to the headunit.. its phat because you can control your ipod from the headunit!

aren't you suppose to have the dock connector?
-
you really dont need all the fancy shit that companies are trying to sell you... i love the fact that you can control shit from your head unit but its too expensive just get a head unit with an aux in and connect it with a Y-cable simple as that... thats how i had it for a while great quality and your ipod should have good playlist so you dont have to fuck with it too much
-
^true... i was in the market for a new headunit so i decided to just get an alpine... because of the ipod feature. the quality is dope and i am satisfied with the controls
