jordan and pippen had a lot more support though than shaq and kobe, you can't say that didn't make them look better and win more games.

of course they had a better team but since all of the Lakers fans wanna say that Lebron aint as good as Kobe just coz he aint got any rings then look at which duo got the most rings.....

The thing is, Pippen isn't on the level that Kobe, Shaq, and Jordan are...Pippen isn't a top 10 player.  To be the best DUO, both players have to be on the same caliber...Jordan was just on another level than Pippen. It was like 75% Jordan 25% Pippen...With Kobe and Shaq, it was always 50/50...That's because they're both 2 of the best players to ever player this game. IMO, Kobe + Shaq > Jordan + Pippen.

that's a good point aswell, the jordan pippen partnership was more lopsided. i give pippen all the credit in the world, he was an excellent defender, a clutch shooter, and a good disher, but his sole purpose for being in the NBA was to compliment Jordan's career. we saw what happened when pipp went to houston, then portland, then back to chicago.

First, don't forget Shaq and Kobe won 3 rings with the fact they hated each other I mean it had an impact on the court. Their chemistry was good ( only sometimes) at best and far from what it could have been and should have been. Despite that they still dominated and managed to win 3 rings. Plus like Nik said Jordan-Pippen wasn't a "balanced" duo. Don't get me wrong Pip was an amazing player, a monster defender.... but on the offensive end he wasn't on Kobe level plus he was kinda mentally weak in the money time. Kobe and Shaq>>>>> MJ and Pip. Plus about Lebron-Kobe, even without considering rings, Kobe>>>>> Lebron why ? Kobe has the killer instinct and the way he takeovers when the game is on the line>>>>>>>>>>>>> any player in this league

The 80's Lakers won 5 titles.  Only 2 of those titles you can say Jabbar and Magic were clearly the 2 best players on the team, in their first title Jabbar was the best player but Wilkes and Magic had the same Win Shares.  1982 comes along, and its pretty clear that Kareem and Magic are the best in the team.  Same goes 1985. In 87 it was Magic and Worthy and in 88 it was Magic and Scott.  In other words, the 80s Lakers were dominated by Magic and other players that would stand out year in and year out.

Shaq and Kobe > Jordan and Pippen > Magic and Kareem

Jordan/Pippen>>Magic/Kareem>>Shaq/Kobe.

Shaq and Kobe were a great duo as far as two indivually amazing players, but when it comes to actual chemistry between two players...those other two duo's are head and shoulders about anyone. Btw...im not sure if this is limited to duos who won championships, but if its not...there absolutely no way you can talk about duos without mentioning Malone/Stockton. I hated em, but fuck...they were a perfect fit for eachother, and probably played together better then any of those other duo's. they just didnt have the strong teams to go along with them.

Magic/Kareem > Jordan/Pippen > Shaq/Kobe

Simple, Magic was the ultimate team player. He could dominate a game without scoring a point. With Kareem, they made the best dynasty of NBA history. Jordan is the greatest scoring machine the NBA has ever seen since Wilt. The difference, Jordan had a teammate to help him, it wasn't until Wilt got Jerry West, and both were too old to have a dynasty after years of chasing the Celtics. Jordan and Pippin dominated because Jordan was that good, and Pippin knew his role. BUT, Pippin was one of the best defenders of all time, and without Pippin on D, Jordan is looking at Barkley, Ewing and Malone and Stockton win title, and we all see Magic never comeback because the spring before he found out he had HIV, he won his final title. Pippin did hold up his end, mainly D with O support. Shaq and Kobe never reached their full potential, and could have surpass both. BUT, too many years of Shaq getting lost defending a simple pick and roll in Utah, and Kobe shotting air balls in playoff games hurts overall. Also, that lose to Detroit to end it all shows that their internal problems could not help them beat a unit like Jordan and Pippin who would have each others back, look at Jordan beating Utah with the flu. Pippin is there to help his teammate, Kobe would have just left Shaq alone in the paint and tried to score 50 himself to get the attention and say he carried the team well Shaq was sick, or vice versa, Shaq would have demanded the ball well Kobe is bringing the ball up court. Self distruction ruined Kobe and Shaq. Team work is what puts the 90's Bulls and the 80's Lakers above them. Magic as a team player beats Jordan the scoring machine though for  the better duo.

I disagree...Shaq fell off his last few years in LA, but during the 3peat reign, there was never a duo greater than Kobe & Shaq. Lucky for Jordan, Pippen never showed up to camps out of shape and unmotivated to play...

Kobe & Shaq (1999-2002) > Jordan & Pippen (1990-1993) > Jordan & Pippen (1995-1998).

I HIGHLY disagree...

thats cool, but theres absolutely NO way you can put Kobe/Shaq above Jordan/Pippen or Magic/Kareem. I mean cmon man. I dont know if you were old enough to actually watch Kareem/Magic, or really understand basketball when Jordan/Pippen were runnin together. But Shaq and Kobe's chemistry was NOTHING compared to those guys. This isnt about who the individual, but about who were the best "duos". You never saw these kind of problems between Jordan and Pippen or Magic and Kareem that would cause them to not be able to play together. Kobe/Shaq, not even close to the other two. As for having Jordan/Pippen above Magic/Kareem, thats close. Jordan is unarguably the greatest player ever. But Magic and Kareem are both probably in the top 5 or so. Pippen, i wouldnt place him in the top ten ever really. But, look at how good those Bulls teams were, and they had FAR less talent surrounding those two then Magic and Kareem ever had. I mean, through their runs of 6 championships...the 3rd best player they ever really had was Rodman, and they didnt have him the whole time. They had players like Luc Longley,Bill Wennington, BJ Armstrong, etc...etc. All of whom disappeared into nothingness when Jordan and Pippen were gone.

3Peat Kobe & Shaq (1999-2002) had AMAZING chemistry on the court. They were unstoppable, I don't think Jordan & Pippen woulda' been able to stop them. In my opinion, the 3Peat Kobe & Shaq is the greatest duo in NBA history...That's my opinion, it's fine if you don't agree, but there IS logic behind it...

How can you blame it on Shaq? If Kobe wouldn't have been going around raping bitches, (No, I do not believe he really raped her) Shaq would probably still be in LA. Kobe tried to justify what he did by basically saying "Everybody else does it, even Shaq." Then next thing you know Mitch says they would never trade Kobe, but they would trade Shaq. How would you react if you were in Shaq's shoes? I have no respect for Kobe after he tried to bring Shaq down with him after he got caught cheating. I'm a Laker fan, but I am also a fan of Shaq still.

LMAO...That wasn't revealed till after Shaq was traded. Excuses excuses...It comes down to Shaq wanting an EXTREME contract extension, which he didn't get. He requested a trade, that's all there is to it...Mitch wouldn't have had money for Kobe with Shaq's out-of-shape greedy demands...They chose Kobe over Shaq, who wouldn't? Shaq was being a little bitch, he turned on LA on HIS OWN, no one made him do that...Fuck Shaq and fuck anyone who believes Kobe is responsible for Shaq's actions... ::)

tell me who would play D on Jordan , Kobe  ::)

LMAO! You mean to tell me that you don't think Kobe vs. Jordan would be an excellent match-up? You think Kobe would just fold and lose all composure or something? This is 5 time all-defensive first team Kobe we're talking about...Please make logical comments. There's a difference between a Shaq-Luc Longley match-up and a Kobe-Jordan match-up...Your comments are idiotic.
That's why I'm talking about, these haters don't know what Kobe has already achieved. I guess they just heard Barkley comments or read Sport Illustrated (in which Kobe wasn't mentionned as potential MVP when T. Parker (YEP YOU READ RIGHT !!!!) was  ::)

I def agree that Jordan and Pippen was way more lopsided.  EVERYBODY that played with Jordan was a lot better.  Pippen was great, but nowhere near where he was when he was with Jordan.

Lakers at their best level (during the 01 playoffs) >>>> any Bulls team

Didn't the Bulls go 70-12 in 96? Those numbers speak for themselves.

lol ... relax homie ....i know the shaq luc comparison is more lobsided than kobe jordan... but jordan is and always will be the better player between him and kobe.... and theres no doubt about that... so you please stop making idiotic comments like kobe is the greatest player to walk this earth... he is an amazing player and will be remembered as one of the greats... but just not in that league of the Jordans, Birds, Johnsons, kareems, ...etc...etc..

and that comment i made was just ment to spark shit up...lol but jordan is unstopable im not talkin when kobe and jordan met im talkin about prime jordan.... i would feel sorry for kobe....
Kobe is the only player to average 34pts or more (with Jordan and another player now a Heat assistant) in the last 30 years , I think "unstoppable " can be used for him too

LOLOLOLOL...Yea, that's what marketing has made you believe. I'm not denying that Jordan is the greatest player to walk the earth, but the fact that you said Kobe is not in the same league as Larry Bird is mind-boggling. In fact, I feel sorry for the way the media has brainwashed you. Kobe would easily keep up with Jordan (in his prime). Maybe Jordan would be great and drop 50 on him, but Kobe would hold his, I know for a fact...You act like Kobe isn't one of the best perimiter defenders EVER, you act like Kobe isn't known as one of the greatests, you act like a Jordan-Kobe match-up wouldn't be one of the bests we have seen...You say Jordan is and ALWAYS will be the better player...How the fuck do you know that? That just tells me it's what you WANT to see...What if Kobe wins 5 more rings, averaging 35 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals...Would Jordan still be better?...The fact is that Kobe has amazing ability, ability that people haven't seen since Jordan...To deny a Kobe-Jordan match-up would be not only a great match-up, but an even one is nothing more than a joke...EJRizo, I know you're in love with Jordan and all, but lets be realistic here. Though Jordan has become the NBA God (what do you expect, he came into the league when marketing was getting its jump-start and took over the industry), there is no doubt in anyones mind that Kobe has been the closest thing to Jordan since Jordan...The fact that you can't see that is no one elses problem. Don't ever doubt greatness...PeACe

never said he wasnt the closest... i believe that he is amazing.... and myabe that comment about not being in the same league was dumb or whatever but i just dont ever see him being a better player he hasnt showed it yet and i doubt he will he needs to change his ways before he does.... he needs to get some of these rings as the leader of this team too ....which i sure hope he does....but only time will tell... but the whole jordan will and always be the greatest .... its just that i dont every believe there would be someone better..... tooo hard to imagine let alone see... if i ever saw that then i would be amazed...  :o but all these things are just a matter of opinions.... but all i know is that kobe is great but jordan is greater!...lol

Yea, I definitely respect that you think Jordan is greater, shit, he probably is the greatest (as of now)...But to say that Kobe and Jordan wouldn't match-up nicely isn't really logical. I think Luc would have a little more trouble with Shaq, especially Shaq in his prime...PeACe

Jordan and Pippen were much better.  If they had a feud they never let the media in on it.  They handled it like men, not all this Hollywood who can get the media on their side bitch ass shit.  The media needs to shut the fuck about Shaq and Kobe and let them play the damn game that they are paid to play.  Shaq and Kobe need to stop running their mouths too!

That's because the media loves blowing shit out of proportion nowadays and making feuds seem bigger than they really are...Kobe and Shaq's chemistry on the court was excellent, they actually got along for a good portion of the 3peat era...That's when they were at their greatest together, when NO ONE could stop them. Remember, Jordan and Pippen were said to hate eachother at some point, and who'll really know? The media just didn't exploit it as much as they do today...
