Title: 50 Cent new album on July 18?
Post by: Meho on February 05, 2006, 03:05:11 AM
GUnitWorld.com: 50 Cent recorded a new diss track to Game in late January where he talks about Game's DVD. The track is titled "Not Rich, Still Lying". In the song, 50 mimics Game throughout the entire track, but perhaps the biggest news was 50 revealing his new album. Around 2 minutes and 10 seconds into the track, 50 says: "Yeah! It's 50! New album...July 18th...because I can't stay away!" over DJ Kay Slay speaking. 50 said he was trying to keep it on the low, but he knew someone would leak it. 50 promises less tracks with more quality. This time, he only has to beat 4.9 million. (which The Massacre sold) According to 50, the album is over 50% done, and hopefully the album will make it out by July 18th, but if not, he promises a 2006 release. "Look for Mase, Mobb Deep, hopefully Dre, of course Em, and the rest of the family on this album." The album has also been given a name, but 50 said the following, "The album is named, but y'all gotta figure it out. All I'm saying is, I've already told it to you. 50 Cent is back. Tell that bitch Game to run for cover."

By saying the above he actually admits that The Massacre was garbage. What an idiot...
I suppose the title of his album will be "Game Over"?

To be honest, if it sounds more like the tracks on his soundtrack than The Massacre, I'd check for it. I think he probably learned a lesson from the reaction to the last album.

I found that funny too.  Is it me, or does this seem strangely similar to Ja Rule? 50 is realizing that he's lost a lot of credibility, so i think he's gonna try to come harder this time around (Blood in my eye).  I'm sure it'll sell well compared to most other albums released, but i think we'll see consistent declines in g-unit sales this year.  50's time is getting short.

That's true, but it might be enough to cripple, if not destroy, Game's career
by dissing him and not allowing to release another lp.

That album title was already used by Too $hort.

Good news if it's true, but only if he really quits after two more albums.

Of course...it's extremely obvious that 50's realized his original fanbase has long since gotten fed up with him.  The problem with this is that he's now going to make the same mistake Ja made...Ja tried to go back to being hardcore on "Blood In My Eye", but that album flopped because the mainstream audiences that had made his previous albums into successes didn't care (all they wanted was more pop rap), and the hardcore had already written him off completely and weren't going to give a fuck regardless.  Once you go pop, it's very difficult to go back; Nas is one of the few exceptions, and 50 ain't no Nas.

I disagree, this album still gonna have some pop singles to appeal the mainstream audience. No way 50 gonna do an album stricly for the streets, don't forget 50 cent= business mind 1st  8)

I'm sure, but 50 has made some bad business decisions before.  We don't even know if all of the new acts on G-Unit (Mobb Deep, M.O.P., Spider Loc, Lil Scrappy, Mase, etc.) are even going to perform as he seems to expect.  Besides, he's also been saturating the market with his presence, so consider that.

when did Lil Scrappy sign for Gunit?

A couple months ago.  It's basically a joint deal, tho, between BME under Lil Jon and G-Unit South under Young Buck.

EDIT: Oops, ZDizzle just beat me to it.

This album will be trash just because it will be rushed because he just wants of fufill his contract and get off the math (not so sure bout shady though) i dobut dre will produce on it because of that fact that he wants out of aftermath and it will come out when or around the time 50 says couse interscope wil push for it to come out.

I think the timing has more to do him realizing that his chokehold on the rap game is getting loose.  Both of his singles from the GRODT soundtrack didn't chart well, Yayo flopped, Olivia was done before she started.  He's getting nervous that people aren't talking about him as much, so he better get some more material out there while there's still a good audience.

And also, fuck trying to guess his album title.  This is more bullshit gimmicks done by 50 to keep people chattering about him.  He's a fucking joke.
