Title: Interesting story about Snoop and the Original Next Episode
Post by: We Fly High on February 14, 2006, 04:06:30 PM
Here is an interesting story about Snoop and the original version of the Next Episode.

one day I was bumping some old school unreleased Death Row shit ("Next Episode", "Doggystyle", "You Cant See Me", etc..) and the doggystyle VP had never heard of any of that material before, so he asked me to burn a cd. So i got him all the tracks that I had, and I burned it for him, and he passed it onto Snoop. Snoop was tripped out at all the audio that I had, and a lot of the stuff he hadnt heard since the days of chronic and doggystyle. Snoop told him that the original version of Next Episode was produced by Warren G, which ends the widespread speculation that Dre produced it, and also explains the similarities between that and the Warren g song "runnin with no breaks" .

perhaps that would explian why it was taken off the album at the last minute.  Maybe Dre wanted the album to be all his producing.  Or maybe warren didn't want the cut on there in the first place.  OR, maybe warren didn't mind it being on the album but wanted credit for it rather than being goasted.  who knows.  props on the info.

I always remember hearin that The Next Episode OG and G'z up hoez down didn't go on the album because of sample clearances, so maybe they got it cleared for Warren's album since it was later or maybe because it was a different company that Warren was signed to.

What up E-Wood!!!!! Long time homie.  Yea.. thats some interesting news right there.  I never thought that sounded like Dres production to begin with.  Makes sense that Warren produced it and it also makes since why it didnt make the album.  Suge wasnt trying to fuck with anybody who wasnt officially Deathrow.  Thats why Snoop didnt appear on his debut album as well.. thats why The Doggpound was taken off of What We Go Through.  Sucks because I think Deathrow wouldve been so much better if they wouldve allowed Warren to promote with them.

No it is not CDQ. It just seems like a random ass compilation of songs from  during the death row era.
1. Doggystyle - has been circulating around already in low quality
2. let em understand perfection - on the Foesum lost tapes, i believe
3. Afro puffs 2 - dont know, probably some form of the remix with dre and snoop
4. g'z up hoes down - from Doggystyle already first print
5. curb servin - i dunno
6. every single day - its out there in low quality
7. gin and juice remix - theres several bsides on the singles and on the death row GH
8. interlude - ??
9. Twas the night -  Christmas on death row
10. Niggaz is like that - poetic justice
11. interlude
12. the next episode - out there in low quality
13. itz on - ??
14. county blues - ??
15. havent you heard - out therei n low quality, I think its coming out in cdq on the OFTB project
16. freestyle - ??
17. nigga named Dave - Dave = Death after visualizing eternity ? i think anyways its Murder was the case" w/ diff title
18. doggy doggy world perfecto mix - b side on the single
19. gin and juice, g'z up hoes down - both have been printed on official cds
20. deep cover - deep cover sdtk
