i thought bush invaded iraq for oil ? then why the fuck are the prices goin up ?
I thought Tony Blair invaded Iraq for the same reason, but us Brits pay 91.9p per litre or $7.53 per gallon!

Oh man, they're a total bitch. All the cars I'm looking at these days have killer mileage, I just can't go big right now. Caliber's 26/30 mpg with a 2L - so it's looking better and better in that dept. My dads got a truck and he's like killing his retirement savings filling it up - ;)

Yea, supposedly it's going up to around $4 a gallon!!!...Man, I drive so damn much too. I live in Woodland Hills, my work is in Sun Valley (23 miles away), my girlfriends house is in North Hollywood (16 miles away), and I'm always driving back and forth. I even do deliveries with my own car for work to far places like La Crescenta (30 miles away), Burbank (18 miles away), etc...The fuckin' price was down to around $2.07 a couple months ago after going all the way up to $3.25+ last summer...This shit's gettin' ridiculous, but it's GOTTA go down.
-
this shit is depressing man 4 days ago i filled my tank up and it cost 2.85 a/gallon and cost me $52. now im guessin next time i fill up i have a feelin ima pass 60 bux
-
Get used to 3 dollars a gallon being cheap because by the end of the summer we'll be looking at 4 dollars no doubt, and that's not counting hurricane season as well. They predict this year will be the worst ever for hurricane season, global warming is real people. It's 1.13 a litre here right now across from Detroit,
chill

Get used to it... it'll top 3 bucks everywhere pretty soon, and will never fall below that again. I started driving 10 years ago, gas was 81 cents.
Not to get too political, but this is the price we pay for war. We're incredibly spoiled in America.
Look @ the hardships America went through during World War II. They locked all the asians up in concentration camps. We ran out of steel, etc. We were just coming out of the great depression, people couldn't eat and fought for jobs.
Look @ the hardships the average citizen went through during World War I.
Look @ the hardships the average american had during the civil war. A lot of that was because the war was here on our soil, but the entire country suffered severe setbacks and we were killing each other, the entire South was impoverished and is still in some areas suffering the consequences 120 years later. Kids and shit were starving to death all over the south, homes were burned, women raped, people were slaves, times were fucked up.
Look @ the hardships the average american suffered during the revolutionary war. Another war on our soil, but still times were fucking ROUGH.
-------------------------------------------------------------
So, point being, yeah, the gas prices are high, but in reality most of us can afford it anyways, and we're in a time of war. Whether you're for it , or against it, the fact is we are at war. So in retrospect if you look @ the other wars the United States has been involved in, we have it easy and should thank god that one of the only things we have to worry about sacrificing for this war right now is doubled gas prices.
-
Look, it has nothing to do with wars and sacrifice. Our wallets are suffering due to laziness and stubborness.
One of the main drives of the environmental movement in the 1970's was over our dependency on gfossil fuel. Everyone knew about this from your everyday blue-collar guy all the way up to the execs in the Nixon administration. This whole predicament is nothing new or out of the blue.
Damn near 35 years later and what has happeed? Not jack shit. You look at some countries in South America. The majority of their vehicles run on ethanol and that's one less problem for them to worry about because they're fuel is much cheaper. We, being the stubborn Americans we are, refuse to change even if it benefits us. Like Bush said a while back, we're addicted to oil, which is why we're JUST starting to make moves towards alternative fuels.
The blame has to be put on the past generation. They saw the problem and simply dropped the ball, and shifted the problem to our generation. They could of nipped this in the bud 30 years ago.
-

I last filled up at 96p a litre which is the equivilant of $6.47 a gallon, however the dollar has appretiated against the pound in the last month or two, so previously it may well have been $8 a gallon
it cost me about £55 to fill my car up which is $97.86 and i get like 18 miles to the gallon from my BMW 325i thats why i'm using my car less these days

i know where ur coming from brazil makes their fuel from sugar, although they have a shit load of it imagine if everyone else did that too, what would happen to sugar prices?
what trauma was saying about war is true, currently there is plenty of supply but fear and sabotage is whats causing the high oil prices as well as increasing world demand, the war of words with iran at the moment is attibuted to oil hitting record highs again the have been no dramatic changes in supply or demand in the last few months

LMAO. You think thats bad? I put 10 bux, and it's still on empty, before I even drive. My car also has a big ass tank, but what you said was pretty typical.

What kind of car? My parents have an Excursion. They probably pay more on gas a month then they do on the car note.
Anyways, I borrowed it one day because I had a grip of people with me and I put in $15 and it was still on E. I put in another $20 and the meter barely moved lol.

Whatever, you're missing the forest for all the trees. My point is still valid, this isnt' a big dick contest, and I don't want bragging rights over who had it the hardest. I'm just saying that right now, we have it much better than we had it in World War II. England of course had it MUCH worse than we did in World War II, but that's irrelevant to the point I was making.

That's what THEY said, but that's not what I said. I am now saying what you quoted above, I will not be wrong because I rarely am.

Up again, jesus christ:
Retail gas prices across the country jumped an average of nearly a quarter per gallon in the past two weeks, according to a survey released Sunday.
Self-serve regular averaged $2.91 a gallon, up from $2.67 two weeks ago, said Trilby Lundberg, who publishes the nationwide Lundberg Survey of 7,000 gas stations.

Also Sunday, OPEC President Edmund Maduabebe Daukoru predicted that oil prices would fall from their current high of just over $75 a barrel to stabilize in the "upper fifties to lower sixties."
Crude-oil prices hit a new record Friday, fueled by concerns about Iran's nuclear ambitions and tight U.S. gasoline supplies.
The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries president said the solution to high prices lies in a calmer international environment and boosting refining capacity — not increasing output which would only clog the market.
"If we do the right things by lowering international tensions, oil prices will definitely stabilize," said OPEC President Edmund Maduabebe Daukoru said in Doha, Qatar.... more at link

Chevron has the best gas...Over here, there's a few really cheap Chevrons...76 tends to be the most expensive gas around my area...
-
this is bullshit, i can get $3.05 10 mins away from the house, but its fuckin $3.27 down the block. i hate this shit !!!
-
Arco is my place. The one in my area is usually .10 cheaper than the rest.

Man i drive a mother fuckin 93 ford bronco that thing just guzzels gas back.. im spending roughly around 250 dollars a week on gas for fuck sakes
-
man when i use my sister's 05 Lexus IS300 i HAVE to put Chevron Supreme which is fuckin bitch! but when i drive my chevy cav gas is ok.
-
This is insane.
When I got my first car, gas was $0.97 a gallon. For $10 I could fill up my car. Now it's $3.29 a gallon. Crazy.
I'm just glad I no longer have to make that 62 mile commute to Northridge. That was murder. I'm still spending over $60 a week in gas easily.
Hopefully people will trade in their gas guzzler SUV's so the demand can ease up a bit. This problem is our own doing, our desire for massive SUV's and trucks and V8 motors is doing us in. Also, the government suppressing alternative fuel technology didn't help either.
-
76 is the cheapest in my hood.
-
i drive an SUV, but pretty soon imma return it to my pops... this shits too crazy. easily 60 dollars for a fill up. but i try to limit my driving at all cost now... so a full fill up can last me about two weeks tops. its only an 8 mile roudn trip to work so its not too bad. Arco ro Exxon is cheapest here. but arco sucks cos they onl accepy atm or cash. and atm always charges a fee.
-
Arco is my place. The one in my area is usually .10 cheaper than the rest.
You better change that...Arco has the absolute worst gas. They've had various law-suits in the past for mixing their gas with water and other shit...
-
man when i use my sister's 05 Lexus IS300 i HAVE to put Chevron Supreme which is fuckin bitch! but when i drive my chevy cav gas is ok.
You don't really have to...The cheapest gas at Chevron (regular) is still better than the high-grade gas at Arco.
-

97 cents? How old are you man? I never remember it being THAT cheap. I remember it was down to $1.87 about a year and a half ago though...
-
It was about 5-7 years ago when the gas was under a buck
