Now there's this new cat (well, some people try to say he ain't new, but whatever) his name is Lupe Fiasco. And it just so happens he's the best rapper to come along in quite a while. Not only that, he's gonna blow up, this dude ain't stayin underground, he's about to be bangin on TRL, just watch, you'll see. Even skateboarders are feelin him. This dude is gonna blow up. Kind of reminds me of Nas how smooth he sounds, suprise again, although Nas ain't Muslim he has extremely heavy Islamic influences, his father is a Muslim, gave him a Muslim name "Nasr" (Check the last chapter of the Qu'ran- and the 5th to last, he's named after it), check out Ice Cube, yep, Ice Cube is a Muslim, need I go on? Rap Brown he was rappin in the 60's, today he's Imam Jamil Al Amin leader of Muslim all over the United States. Look at the Lost Poets they coined the phrase "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised", Chuck D is a Muslim too, for your information. Yep, Mos Def has as much credibility as any rapper in the game, you guess it, he's a Muslim too. Next, we got Rakim, the rappers rapper, the rapper who influenced all the other rappers, and yes, his influence was no doubt Islam. Read the Qu'ran, the Qu'ran read in Arabic is more lyrical (rhyme, rythym) than anything any rapper or poet could create, that's why it's been protected throughout the centuries cause so many people have memorized it and would notice even the slightest letter being missed. I could go on forever, but check it, Lupe Fiasco is the future, Islam is the future, ya'll better catch up or get left behind!

Furthermore, the majority of the rappers you listed are from the Five-Percent Nation. The Five-Percenters do not consider themselves Muslims, and they are not considered Muslims by the larger Muslim community. Since you apparently want to fit in with black nationalist groups, I realize you would digress, but most Muslims would not agree with you, and neither do the Five-Percenters themselves.

As a devout Christian, I believe that everyone has the right to their own religion, be it Hindu, Jewish or Muslim. I believe there are infinite paths to accepting Jesus Christ as your personal savior.

Nah, it's a mental issue. He avoids reality, because he's living in a fantasy world where switching your religion solves your problems and the problems of your father. Everything's horrible, so you just switch your religion like someone told you to, and everything's immediately better. Anything that truly didn't change (i.e., everything) gets ignored or keyholed into the fantasy. For instance; when you make a valid point about the 5 percenters, that doesn't fit the fantasy, so it gets ignored... even if it means bringing up the same exact flawed argument over and over again the face of adversity.

i don´t really think so, i just think there´s more people that claims to be christian when it fits the situation. most muslims that i know do try to live after what´s said in the Qu'ran(sp?). and i certainly can´t say the same for the people that i know that claims to be christian, coz they be having sex before marriage, they drink and do drugs etc etc.

It's much more designer to be a Christian (sort of), because you can say you're a Christian and most of America at least will either a. be alright with that, or b. award you special status "Oh, he's born again" or whatever. If you tell people you're a muslim you're likely to garner animosity from the average American.... so the only people that go around claiming to be muslim are USUALLY (unless they're looking to be perceived as an outcast or whatever) truly muslim. Many of the people claiming to be Christians don't really have much of a connection with the faith and don't practice what they preach.

^^That would be ignorant of us to claim that what an artist believes has no impact on the music they create. Actually the opposite is true, an artists beliefs manifest themselves in everything that they create. Especially a hip-hop artist, because hip-hop is the most expressive music ever created. So the issue of a rappers religion is paramount to any discussion.

Your telling a lie to people on purpose. So I'll repeat myself again like I do everytime you bring up this subject. I was writing some stuff (song/script) about him being a Hip-Hop Prophet. In the context of hip-hop I was writing about him being a prophet since he had predicted his death, etc... and it was a fictional piece if anybody has checked a rough copy of it out. I wasn't claimin to be a rapper or anything, I was just experimenting on the computer, there's nothing wrong with that.
Also, I want to mention that Rodzilla wrote the chorus where it says "man/prophet/God".
