Are you at all worried about the fact that the G-Unit roster is getting a bit bloated?
We already did “DPG Unit” on the Young Buck [album]. You can have two power groups. We originators of this shit, so we making noise on our own with the real gangsta shit. It’s just a matter of getting the records out. [If G-Unit] gives me and Kurupt $2.5 million a piece, we all in the game [laughs]. That’s 500,000 records sold. Go ahead and put that in our pockets, man, we’ll give you one of those hella albums! If we show we can put an album out now on Koch and we can do a million independent, then they really gotta break bread.
For 2.5 million I can see why Daz would be tempted to sign with G-Unit. :(

there's no doubt a big budget means big motivation signing with 50 Cent

but really, they don't need to go to G-Unit, that shit is gay

If they sign to G Unit maybe he could put the song "Banned" on the album.

IF and that is a big if, Tha Dogg Pound sells 1 mil or even goes gold, they dont need to sign with G Unit. That much sold on a indie is alot of money. You can reup back with Koch or go major and have more leverage. I am not trying to hear 50 doing all the hooks on a DPG album. Now a DPGUnit is something completely different. This is also DAZ we are talking about. He said that he had a 50 Cent diss track a couple of weeks ago, so take this interview with a grain of salt.

As long as they pick their own beats and stuff, i can see them on G-Unit. Promotional wise it could be a good move, since 50 partial knows how the market works. On the other hand, the brand G-Unit is tainted. Besides, Daz was talking about it like it was just an idea, nothing concrete going on.

Lol Daz is probably bullshitting again.

Next week 50 will have an interview and say " who are Daz and Kurupt, I only know Snoop"

from the article...

Do you think it would sour your relationship with people out West?

For real...don't tell me some of y'all are buying into this AGAIN? Look, we all saw what happened last time Daz praised Fifty constantly and acted like he was connected with G-Unit: he totally dismissed him in that DubCNN interview! Also, Daz JUST SAID in that Dogg Pound interview (again for DubCNN ;)) that he wouldn't give 50 any 'shine' by releasing 'Banned". Now he's saying he wants back with The Unit? After his "fucc gunit" posts on DPG Recordz and numerous other crazy happenings? Sorry, can't see it happening at the moment. Having said that, I do remember reading something about 50 being on the radio and saying that he would like to work with Snoop and Tha Pound (by which he probably just means Snoop) on a project, but dunno if that was confirmed by a reliable source.

Finally, think about this one: what the hell have Daz and Kurupt done to justify Fif signing them as a group for 2.5 Mill EACH?! Don't get me wrong, I love the music, but they're hardly pushing millions of units and getting plenty of commercial love. Sounds like random shit-talking to me, I almost thought Daz had moved past it for a while!

One does wonder if D-A-Z will regret saying such things in this particular interview. I'd wager even 50 Cent (or, indeed, someone at G-Unit) checks out "XXL" now and then...in other words, this could get disproven real fast.

i have no faith in 50's ability to market anyone at this point in time; like it has been said many times, look at the mobb deep album.  i agree that g-unit is a tainted name, the second that i see it i am no longer paying attention.

IF dpg did sign, would they rock the g-unit crips title?  50 does have a tendency to ride in the vehicles he talks about in videos, does this mean that we might see daz with a switch box in his lap trying to rail, or skirt out?

true, no one outside the west really gives a fukks about Daz or kurupt

I garuntee that Daz's album flops, and Cali is Active also flops

I would love to see them go triple plat, but they won't go gold COMBINED

LOL. The west pretty much does pay Daz's bills, since west coast fans are the only ones buying his album.

And look what happened to Mobb Deep. They put out a true G-Unit album and it flopped. If they didn't change their style they could have some success on G-Unit, but that's not going to happen.
