MPAA put pressure on Sweden to have it shut down, fooling Swedish police to think that there was warez on the Pirate Bay servers.

seeing the previous messages taunting the RIAA, MPAA, Apple etc etc i'm not surprised at all really..
they had a letters page of witty relpies to people basically saying "fuck off we're swedish your laws dont count here.. haha "..
unfortunately of late the site seems to have gone to pot anyways.. not used it for 6 months

the site will be back up within 2 days, but the funniest shit is that nothing will happen to the owners of piratebay coz what their doin is not illegal. thatīs why the whole razziaīs a joke, itīs just a waste of my precious tax money.

what they're doing is illegal in many countries already.. and swedish law was already updated right?
its like selling drug or bomb making manuals. its illegal but you're not making the bombs.. i.e. you're an accessory to a crime.

updated? it was more like downgraded, the swedish laws on this are the weakest in the world. and itīs illegal for the goverment and their departments to trace IPīs so they canīt do jack shit about the downloading problem and that was the "update" in the swedish law lol. instead of coming down harder on downloaders the Supreme Court came to a conclusion that itīs against several swedish laws to trace IPīs. and i wouldnīt exactly call that decision an "update", atleast not if i was in the entertainment business lol.

uhh... originally the law in sweden was that only the uploader, not the downloader was at fault. then it was changed so both were at fault.
now they're going to go through the "Links to files" thing just like every other country went through a few years ago.
