props for the list.  I've always loved Short's old CD's with my favorite being Get In Where You Fit In and I like Banks.  I love the old funky beats they had on those albums so I want to find other cd's by Dangerous Crew.

Can you recommend any albums from either the Crew as a whole or individual crew members albums?

yea, i know mang.  Banks is a beast when it comes to the beats, he is not a bad rapper either. and then $hort in the 90's was just fucken crazy.  "Get in Where you fit in" is also my favorite album.  you remember the song "Get in where you fit in?" its like #8 track on the cd, that is a diss to  Pooh.  The other 2 dude that are on the song, Bad Influnze, murderd that shit.

Albums that you should check out is:

Ant Banks- The Big Bad Ass, Sittin on Somethin Phat, Do or Die
Too $hort- Albums #1-10(you probably already know about that)
Goldy-       In the Land of Funk

Also, Father Dom and Bad Influenze both had albums.  Bad Influenze stopped rappin after one of the duo died, Rappin Ron.  RIP  8)

They also had a record called "Dont try this at Home."  It isnt as good as thier individual records but worth checkin out.

if anyone can add on to help homeboy out, be my mufuckin guest.   :)

Props man yea I love the track "Get In Where You Fit In".. in fact I love every track, beat, lyric on that whole CD.  I have pretty much every Short album and I think I have that Ant Banks album already but always wondered who else was in the Crew.  I'll definitely check those other albums out.  Thanks for the list.

Lately I wish Short would go back to the shit he did with the Crew.  I really don't like hearing him on a Lil Jon beat much and his music just doesn't seem as good as it was back in the day.  But I'm a fan so I'll still give it a listen.

"He produced the songs Laffy Taffy and Betcha Can't Do It Like Me for the Hip-hop quartet D4L." - According to Wikipedia........................WTF???!!??!????????

Maybe it's a trick, and maybe he's out to sabotage the south....so he goes and gives them weak beats to make the south think they are really doin somethin, while the West knows we have something a lot better in store.........or maybe not

Hmmm...in a way, it is seen as South Central, but most people definitely separate the two. Nobody from Compton will say they are from South Central, they all say they are from Compton....any gang in Compton will have Compton in front, versus LA.....the news will say that an accident or shooting happened in Compton, and not South Central. Most people won't even consider Watts to be South Central, and if they do, they still call it Watts. There are some people who say that The Jungles and the Crenshaw District are part of South Central, then there are those that don't. So it really all depends who you talk to....so I can't say somebody is right or wrong for saying that Compton's not in South Central. I definitely don't consider it being South Central, even though I can see how somebody would say it is.

So you are talking about the county itself, or just the cities that border Los Angeles? To me, it is a matter of opinion, especially since South Central isn't even an official name anymore...they just call everything South Los Angeles. There are some people who will debate that South Central is a section that is East of Vermont or the 110, and they may say East L.A., Watts, and a few more spots aren't considered South Central....then there are those who say "everything south of Wilshire"...but as far as official neighborhoods, South Central isn't really official because there are no signs or anything that say "South Central" as there are signs that say "Hyde Park" "Crenshaw District" "Athens"...or as they have signs in the many unincorporated areas such as Ladera Heights.

To my knowledge, Ice Cube wasn't from Compton...he grew up in South Central, or at least an area that many people consider South Central, which was somewhere between Normandie and Western...and I don't know if he just claimed Compton because he was with NWA, or if he actually did live there at some point. But he only claimed Compton during the N.W.A. time...during his solo career, he always claimed South Central. So it's still on way to say that it's a FACT that Compton is considered South Central, when it's a completely different city, and it's not even the South Central part of L.A. county.

South Central was renamed to South Los Angeles...Look it up on en.wikipedia.org (http://en.wikipedia.org), Compton is geographically considered part of South Los Angeles (formerly South Central). It's really pointless to argue, but you can't say geographical locations are opinions, you can say rappers rep it one way. But technically, Compton has always been known as part of South Central...PeACe

Homie, if you're posting on a west coast message board, you better know that Compton is part of South Central Los Angeles. I mean, us fans grew up listening to Eazy-E, Dr. Dre, DJ Quik, Ice Cube, etc... Especially you being from Cali and all, that's just pathetic...PeACe

I don't understand this reasoning...How is it a matter of opinion? The southern part of central Los Angeles contains many cities, INCLUDING Compton and Watts, whether rappers wanna rep it one way or another is up to them...Still, you're wrong saying "no one from Compton will say they're from Souh Central", Ice Cube came out with a song called "How To Survive In South Central"...I don't see how it can be argued, geographical locations are FACTS...PeACe

But technically, Compton has always been known as part of South Central...PeACe

;) well end it at that

Man, I didn't just learn today that Compton was in South Central, I grew up knowing that, I thought EVERYONE already knew that, I just searched it really quick on wikipedia (which is the internets encyclopedia, despite having misinformation every now and then) to show you so that you'd stop the madness...Unfortunately, you continued arguing even when it was obvious you were wrong...There is no opinions on geographical locations...You can't call 411 and say "in your opinion, what city is ____ in?"...Please, just say you were wrong, because this last hour you've been making me look at you like another E-Crazy...PeACe

WTF? I've never heard of Compton being South Central. It's South of pretty much all areas considered South Central. It's more South Bay than South Central. Anything South of the 105: Compton, Hawthorne, Lynwood etc. aren't apart of South Central. Anything West of the 110: Huntington Park, South Gate (around here East L.A. begins) is not apart. I usually think of South Central as East of the 405, South of the 10, West of the 110 and North of the 105. But then there's certain areas South of the 10 which are considered the Westside: Culver City.

Areas considered South Central usually are the Inglewood area and neighboring areas. U.S.C. is located on the border of South Central and Downtown. Depends on who you talk to. Compton is closer to Hawiian Gardens, Gardena, Carson etc. That's more South Bay.

LMAO @ Arguing against Wikipedia and then using it for your arguement.

The fact that this many people really believed that someone of Pooh's caliber could have produced Laffy Taffy is astounding. And sad.

On another note , technicalities aside, Ive never heard of anyone considering Compton a part of South Central. They're two distinct areas in my mind, and I'd think in most other people's minds too. Using Cube's "How to Survive in South Central" doesn't really hold as a valid point cuz Cube's never claimed Compton, he's always repped SC. Everybody in NWA was from Compton but him.

Yea if Compton was the same thing as South Central, B-Real wouldn't have said this: I can't figure out where you from, is it South Central? The Westside? Or Compton?

Three different areas in L.A.

Seriously, who said it was South Central outside of the media, who grouped any and all of the Black areas in Los Angeles as "South Central." Cube was/is from the Crenshaw district. Anyone who went to the Goodlife Cafe back in the day will know that. Anyone in the Leimert Park area will tell you that. Crenshaw is more South Central than anything. He claimed Compton because that was the groups M.O. I don't even think Compton is considrered apart of Los Angeles City as a matter of fact. It's in the County, but not the City.

Who cares where Ice Cube is from, we're talking about what he's claimed. As of now, he lives in fuckin' Tarzana...You can claim Compton as part of South Los Angeles and it would be 100% legit. It's a geographical location, doesn't really matter if the residents and gangs have given it a distinction and claimed it separate...PeACe

Again, Compton isn't even apart of Los Angeles city, how could it be South Los Angeles guy? Explain that to me. It might be in the Southern area of Los Angeles COUNTY but no Los Angeles CITY like Inglewood is.

Who cares where Cube is from? You should. You brought him up as your example stupid. He made that track "How To Survive In South Central" cuz that's where he was really from. He claimed Compton as it was what N.W.A. did. They repped Compton. And since he was writing the songs, he was writing what they wanted to say, "They were from Compton." He claimed the Westside cuz it's what Westside Connection repped. It just made sense to rep it along with his group. You CANNOT claim Compton as apart of South L.A. BECAUSE of it's Geographical location idiot. Fuck what residents or gangs think, LOOK AT A FUCKING MAP.

You call everyone retarded, but you can't grasp the fact that COMPTON ISN'T APART OF LOS ANGELES CITY, THEREFORE IT CANNOT BE SOUTH L.A.

Compton is considered part of metropolitan L.A.. Like Long Island is to New York though not technically part of the city. That's why rappers from Compton and Long Beach and Inglewood and Pomona claim L.A., like the Lakers, wear Dodger caps etc. And we all go to the same jail. :-\
Title: Re: Did y'all know DJ Pooh produced "Laffy Taffy"?

NIK, how doesn't it make sense? There's two things, Los Angeles City and Los Angeles County. If you're not with City limits of L.A. you're not apart of Los Angeles. Hence why a city like Montebello, though on the border of East L.A. is not apart of Los Angeles City, but it's apart of the County. How does that not make sense? It doesn't make sense to you cuz you're a know-it-all who can't admit when he's wrong.

Blaq: People in Pomona don't claim L.A. If it's the case that Pomona is apart of Los Angeles, that would be the real East L.A. then. East L.A. would not be East L.A. as there would be tons of other cities more East. Metropolitan L.A. and L.A. are different. We all go to the same jail cuz it's a COUNTY jail. Hence Los Angeles County... Different than the City.
