I'm about to try opium for the 1st time tonight. Anyone every used this before, and what kinda high is it?

Yeah? Care to gimme some more insight about it? I don't wanna do something that could have consequences on my body. Ive heard it was a mellow high, but instead of feeling drowsy like weed, your high and awake at the same time.

well you know what they make heroin and shit from donīt you? that should be more then enough info for you not to wanna fuck with this shit.

Opium resin contains two groups of alkaloids: phenanthrenes (including morphine and codeine) and benzylisoquinolines (including papaverine). Morphine is by far the most prevalent and important alkaloid in opium, consisting of 10%-16% of the total. It binds to and activates μ-opioid receptors in the brain, spinal cord, stomach and intestine. Regular use, even for a few days, invariably leads to physical tolerance and dependence. Various degrees of psychological addiction can occur, though this is relatively rare when opioids are used for treatment of pain, rather than for euphoric effects. These mechanisms result from changes in nervous system receptors in response to the drug. In response to the drug, the brain creates new receptors for opiates. These receptors are "pseudo" receptors and do not work. When the opiates are out of the body, the brain has the same amount of endogenous opiate (endorphins) to fill these receptors, but less of the functional receptors and more non-functional ones. Abstaining from the drug for a time allows the brain to replace the pseudo receptors with functioning ones (a gradual process).

Thanks, now I'm 50/50 on doing this or not. I still kinda hope it does happen, cuz I'm always down for new things, and my body reacts well to new drugs. I don't really understand all of the wikipedia def. lol, but it doesn't seem that bad.

I've tried almost everything, but I never wanted to do heron. Isn't a % of heroin in ecstacy as well? Ive done that plenty of times with no reprecussions. I'm still most likely gonna try this, ill add to this thread later if I can.
I aslo wanna know if anyone has 1st hand experience doing this.

i tried to smoke opium seeds when i was a kid but i didnīt have any effect.

We have something that looks more like tar. I guess your supposed to lightly pack a bowl, put the opium on it, then put some more weed on top.

sounds like some dodgy afgan hash (they sometimes put opium in it) i read about it before i went to the dam the first time cos some shops have it even tho its illegal well weed is but this is more and it will give you a really drowsey 'high' for a long time, from what i've read its not something i want to try so i've actively avoided it

This will be the first time I tried opium, but Ive experimented with coke, ecstacy, PCP, xanax, acid, meth ( never again ) & all sorts of oxycottons. You might think it's wrong, but I just happen to like being fucked up. I'm sure I'll grow out of it. But if we do the opium tonight, I'm real excited to give it a try.

I've smoked opium dozens of times. Pretty much anything u will get in america will not be crazy at all, especially if you have smoked hella weed. I pretty much didn't really notice any difference in it than smoking weed. But then again, every time I smoked it, I was also smoking a ton of weed too. We mostly would top weed with it, just like you do with hash. Go ahead and give it a try if you are curious, it ain't a big deal. I've never done heroin before, but I tried X a couple of times, and opium is nowhere anything close to excstasy.
who knows, the shit in China could be more crazy. But back in the day like 75% of America was hooked on opium, back when it was legal. They got those Drug Years on VH1, and there is a good one about opium, and everything derived from it.

dude, do it. ive don it like 3 times, it is chemicaly addicting so id wouldnt do it like how you smoke weed, it stays in your system for 3 days, it smells and tastes like flowers when you smoke,it s cool but the high doesnt last long. its fun. dont do it alot.

It's because I didn't know much about opium at all. And my body reacted really bad to the meth. I was sick for like a week.
We smoked the opium tonight, like I said packed it into a bong with some trees. So I'm pretty high, but I'm still able to type, I just feel more awake than I normally would. This wasn't bad at all, and to be honest, it was really nothing special. I don't even think I'd do it again, now I need to find me some xanax 8)

The one plus point of Opium was that it at least made some English lessons interesting, due to the fact that most of the famous Eighteeth century poets were addicted to it, and therefore wrote some screwed up poetry, for instance Coleridge's The Rime of the Ancient Mariner.

Yup, you can beat pretty much any drug with your mind, if your strong enough for it. I'll say, I still can't knock the weed habit.
