This is arguably the best WEST COAST album this year.
Those of you who criticize it because Game says the same things (daytons, 64, blood, crip, etc) go back to your Fresh Prince tapes. This is WEST COAST mufukas! What did you expect?
What I really like about this one is that the only "pop" track is Let's Ride. The rest is pure and raw hip hop. I don't know if i'd call it a classic yet, but it can still be a worthy album for my collection and I will cop it.

"Let's Ride" is the only track I've heard so far
for a pop-like wannabe Dre track it's real nice, good beat by Scott Storch

Personally, I thought Painkillers -Kokane was a better album. But I guess its like comparing apples and other types of apples.

I don't knock him a whole lot for doin that...but it definitely gets annoying, and he does it WAY TOO MUCH. It seems like he has to name drop rapper/actress names, Lowriders, and all else in EVERY single song, as if he wouldn't be able to make a song without doin that. It is cool on some tracks, and it was coo even for the first album...but it's just like damm, can we get a bit of somethin else?

You can't listen through the entire album and say dre didnt have something to do with that
i dont have proof, its just a strong hunch
listen to "lookin at you", listen to the just blaze tracks
peace
-
if dre would have mixed "lookin at you" it would crash your speakers...
-
if he worked on it, there was an awkward silence in the room after he heard "doctor's advocate f/ busta rhymes"

taken from another board .........
Dr. Dre Co-Produced 6 traccs on Doctors Advocate
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes Dr. Dre co-produced six traccs off of Doctor's Advocate, real heads that know Dre's Production and who he works with can tell it's Dre beats, i talk to my folks out in So-Cal and word is out that Dre-Co Produced 6 songs.
1) At first Game put his name on the songs that was produced by Dre - but we all know that Game dont produce and if he does, no way he can copy Dre Songs, so then went it start leaking his name was taken off and Aftermath in-house producers and Producers who work with Dre and who's working on Detox (Nottz is the Co-producer, that's Dre) is on the album. So the Co-producers name is on the traccs instead of Produce by Dre & Co-produce (insert name)
Tracc 1) Lookin at you - Produced by Urban Pope EP (Produced Dr. Dre, Co Produced by Game) ORIGNALLY LISTED AS THE GAME
Tracc 2) Da **** - Produced by DJ Khalil "Aftermath in-house Producer" (Produced by Dr. Dre, Co-Produced by DJ Khalil) ORGINALLY LISTED AS THE GAME
TRACC 7) To Much - Produced by Scott Stroch (Produced by Dr. Dre, Co Produced by Scott Storch) Originally listed THE GAME
TRACC 10) One Night - *you know damn well that aint a Nottz production, even though he's been working with Dre on Detox, that's beat is striaght Dre, listen to the Drums and crips and clearness and vintage Dre Key boards* Produced by Nottz (Produced by Dre. Dre Co-Produced by Nottz) ORIGNALLY LISTED THE GAME
TRACC 13) California Vacation - PRODUCED by JR Rotem (Produced by Dr.Dre Co-Produced JR Rotem (that's Dre Syntheizers and Drums) ORIGNALLY LISTED THE GAME
TRACC 14) BANG - PRODUCED by Jelly Roll (Produced by Jelly Roll, Co-produced by Dr. Dre) ORIGNALLY LISTED THE GAME.
the co-producers name have to be on the album because they put in work, Dre dont care, he got paid. Dre still fuccs with the Game
-
^^ People got way too much time on their hands.
Dre didnt do shit. Period. Who really gives a flying fuck ?

i didnt type all that out ... I copied from another forum ::)
someone made a thread so i guess SOMEONE gives a "flying fuck" - if u don't, why come in the thread?
:o
-
i mean... if dre didnt work on it at all the producers on this sure did a nice job at emulating his beat style and mixing alot of kids when they buy it gon think dre did like 80% of the album other then kayne swizz and the track wit jammie fox
-
Dre dont care, he got paid. Dre still fuccs with the Game
thats a flawed statement. dre doesnt need money, the only thing dre can get from beats nowadays is recognition as the best.
-
what's the difference? are the beats suddenly better if dre had something do to whith them?
-
what's the difference? are the beats suddenly better if dre had something do to whith them?
i think alot of people suddenly would feel like that...lol, just pretend that all the beats by khalil, hi tek, jr, and scott storch (AKA dres team from the past couple years) are dre beats!! they bang just like em! sick album
-
what's the difference? are the beats suddenly better if dre had something do to whith them?
man, i agree with you homie. dre's overrated. i know you guys are gonna hate on me for saying that, but shit. there are a lot of other talented producers out there that can produce the same quality, if not better.
-
what's the difference? are the beats suddenly better if dre had something do to whith them?
no actually its the other way round...the beats are so consistently good that imo dre must've atleast mixed some of em
peace
-
listen to lookin at you game raps- i done been to hell and back / left for dead you know who to thank for that / finished my 2nd lp without a dr dre track / you can take my soul but not my platinum plaques
-
dre didn't touch any of those beats and its obvious. just listen to the low-end, none of them hit hard enough...
-
JR, Scott Storch, Khalil & Nottz all have very Dre influenced styles.
-
It's to hard to imagine Dre "laying low" and doing some ghost-producing & mixing himself. Just look at Dogg Food's songs such as Respect & Let's Play House...tell me those aren't Dre tracks, not to mention that he mixed 14 of the 16 tracks on that album...Anything Daz made at Death Row while Dre was there, Dre had some kind of input on...Or look at Busta's album..he provided additional production or mixed songs that could easily be mistaken for Dre tracks...I think Dre had a hand in a few of the Doctor's Advocate songs...just didn't put his name on them...
-
Dr. Dre's style can be easily duplicated. That's all. The Game probably wanted a "West Coast" sound for his album.
-

Yeah Game just went for more West Coast sounding beats. "Lookin At You" does sound like a Dre beat, but I doubt it.
-
I don't think Dre done anything, some of the beats sound a little like Dre beats but you can tell they aren't, they just don't sound clean enough.
A lot of people can imitate Dre's style but the beats never sound as rich as the real product.
-
But really, was the lyrical content on Doggystyle any better than DA?
-
Right now I'm stuck on this song, Nottz did a dope job on the production...too bad Dre couldn't really mix it like he did with Snoop's "That's That" with R. Kelly or it would be flawless...I feel this song could be a single for Doctor's Advocate if used right & with a dope video to go along with it, same for "Doctor's Advocate"...
-
i was the same way bangin this shit on repeat today... nice nice track that already has that dre orchestra feel to it... im pretty sure game wrote that song as a response to big fase (no stan)
peace

^Yeah I'm sure it's goin' at Big Fase...too bad they can't settle their differences...
-
I like it... the beat is top notch
the whole album is good, except for a couple
-
Yeah that song is nice. If Game can keep makin songs like that (and eventually cease the excessive name dropping), he's easily top 5. And I don't mean for the moment.
-
Yeah i'm really feelin that joint

luv the song man. it should be the next single and they need to drop a deep video to this.
Game really spits from the heart on this and the beat plus chorus is so dope!

Naw you dumb ass nigga, that's L.A shit, not West Coast! I'm from Oakland and I don't give a fuck about no blood, crip, 64, or daytons. Fuck all that Menace 2 Society shit, Game needs to quit name droppin and come with some hot shit coz imho the leaked version of the album is wack. Quit sterotyping the whole west coast coz believe it or not Los Angeles county doesn't = California. There's more to California then some B.S L.A was known for in the mid-90's.

I feel where youre coming from cuz I'm emnbarrassed by the whole hyphy thing being from Cali. Get Dumb! But I don't get all sensitive about it.
WEST COAST is a lifestyle and a genre (look it up). When I'm talking about WEST COAST, I'm talking about the Genre which has it's roots in the L.A. gangsta lifestyle.
But lets get real for a minute, you know that when people throw up the dub what they talkin about. Even Tupac who was from the bay was throwing up the W and repping WEST COAST as the L.A. movement it was and still is.
Maybe some therapy can cure your inferiority complex.
