-
Imagine is some classic shit. Best Snoop/Dre collabo since Death Row.
-
I FUCKIN TOLD U ALL THIS ALBUM WOULD SUCK. MEHO IN UR FACE.
-
the cd is good. i mean it has some songs that shouldnt be there but its better than jay-z's kingdom come. and that is coming from some one who lives on the east coast. but jigga's cd is good too. its good hearing from these 2 cats because with so much bullish coming out from the south its refreshing!!!!! i'm still coping both on the 21st..everyone support real hiphop cop tha blue carpet treatment, kingdom come, doctors adovcate and nas's hiphop is dead
-
gee, i wish i could listen to this album

I FUCKIN TOLD U ALL THIS ALBUM WOULD SUCK. MEHO IN UR FACE.
Actually, this has gotta be SNoop's best since Last Meal, its far better than his last two albums, but still far from perfect. However, the good songs on here outweigh the wackness.
A few wack songs though: Candy, I Wanna Fuck You, Psst, Bwat Up on Yo Pads, Don't Stop, but some REAL dope songs too.
Anyone notice that Round Here has the same Dido sample as Stan, but its not flipped nearly as nice. Oh well, Dre makes up for it on Imagine.............although D'Angelo is horrible on that song
-
You know what to do if you want it ;)

Imagine
Round Here
Crazy
Gangbangin 101
There also alot of funky ass beats on this album and there are alot of solid tracks, a few fillers, but im feelin it and am def gonna cop...

yep, agree with that, I don't know why some complaining about fillers so much... 5 or 6 imo, not 12 or more... Still cuting the album to 15 tracks would had been useful
-
where did you get the album? not link but some tips plz?
-
I think that beat to "Which one of you" is vicious as hell...it has a strong 80's Prince kind of sound to it...but I guess it's too much novelty to take serious...but it could be a club banger, even if it's just for drunk mafuckers to sing along to. And "Psst" with Jamie Foxx is no Whisper Song at all, but it's a decent club track, and it's funny hearin Jamie doin his Prince impersonation.

Yeah I actually like that track. Beat is funky and Snoop always sounded normal when he sings. Hes got that laid back voice, flow so he doesnt sound wierd.
-
Shit the album is damn good. Probably better than Game's.

thats that 1500 Funk!! Larrance Dopson and Lamar Edwards. They played all the keys for Just Blaze on "Why You Hate The Game". these are two of the producers that I support to the fullest. I've been in the studio with them a few times, and they cook up the funkiest shit youve ever imagined. These guys are the future of the west coast, I have more faith in them than any other producerrs in our age range.

A few wack songs though: Candy, I Wanna Fuck You,
usually ur opinions are very similiar to mine, but to me these 2 songs are fuckin great
-
After the first listen, it's a great album, some of the beats are horrible to me though, wtf is that 10 Lil Crips? That beat is unlistenable to me..
But the intro is his best since doggystyle.

Only shiit im dissapointed with or not feelin are LAX, Beat on yo Pads,Like this, Psst, those the only ones i aint feelin. Im sure the brandy and neyo tracks might have been better than these. Also the Jeezy and Brotha Lynch track. Everything else falls in the great to listenable range. Dope ass album. Niggaz hatin on candy but thats STILL my shit.
-
am I the only one that is feeling Boss' Life?? that song is niiiiice!!!
-
I think game album is the album of the year. Better then snoops and Jay z albums.
Snoop could have had the album of the year but a bunch of filler songs with a bunch of real dope songs.
If he cut it down to 14 songs he couldve had a real solid album cause it would have been 7 songs less.
and those seven songs would have been those filler ones
-
coppin this because I really like most of the tracks, even some of the club tracks. Haven't heard all tracks cause i dont wanna spoil it all butfor me bar candy and i wanna fuk u its crazy shit.

well in that case, you might be right.

The album would be stronger if it was trimmed down....The tracks I dont like are
Which one of You ft. 9 inch dix
Like This ft. Western Union
Beat up on Yo Pads
Nima, I actualy like the beat for 10 Lil Crips, and HB, Boss's Life is dope as fuck. After about the first 13 tracks Im thinking the album is just dope as fuck, and then it falls off abit...Good thing "Imagine" and "Have a Talk with God" hold down the end of the album or it would be like another R&G, because I thought the first half of R &G was dope as fuck too and then it went to shit down the stretch....Snoop always seems to put like 19-21 tracks on his records....If he only put like 16 on Last Meal and 16 on TBCT they could be classic records. "Imagine" is just amazing IMO, maybe my song of the year....The shit is deep, it gives you the chills hearing Snoop and Dre trade verses now. WOW! Go Snoop!
-
Cant believe this has leaked! Wish I cud listen 2 it!
-
damn i havent baught a snoop album since "the last meal" but i might just cop this when it comes out.
-
Did Dre mix most of this?
-
omg dre hooked up ROUND HERE..check it out..snoop fits this shit
-
round here is great
yeah snoop could have the two brother lunch songs that with kam that with jeezy but ........
snoop has songs for everbody on this
-
I like this album but not for the same songs as everybody..
My songs : Think About It, Candy, Boss's life, Round Here, A bitch I knew, That's That shit,Wich one of you, and I Wanna Fuck you
I like the other songs but these are the highlights of the album after a few listens
-
am I the only one that is feeling Boss' Life?? that song is niiiiice!!!
I think its being compared to imagine so it doesnt stand much chance but yet the joint is hot as an oven. I mean the beat isnt too adventurous but it lets snoop and akon sound really good.
Round here something that i wouldnt be surprised was produced for eminem or something but its nice like guitar rift and little changes in the beat make sure it sounds real hot. Note 1min 23secs in some mad shit starts happening with the beat and it sounds really nice.
-

The song has the same sample as Stan, good observation about the beat, sounds great! Boss's life is great too
-
"A Bitch I Knew" is dope as hell and Snoop tells wicked stories throughout the whole song...Kinda reminds me of "Freaky Tales" from the album "In the Beginning...There was Rap".........The Timbo joint is just nuts too....Fuck, this album has some amazing songs on it....

I'd say that the Boss' Life beat is more adventurous than Imagine, Imagine is the better track though.

^I must be one of the only ones feeling those 3 tracks, they're dope to me, especially that Nine Inch Dix track..."Like This" is some dope shit to just nod your head to & good lookin' on Snoop on getting the new groups Westurn Union & Tha Warzone on his shit... 8)
-
Its not that I dont really like "Which One of You", its just that to me, it sounds like it would fit better on R&G or Paid Tha Cost album....It doesnt go with the sound of the rest of the album IMO. Should have been left off.
-
Fact is the wackest tracks are with westcoast has beens: The Warzone track, the Western Union track and the Candy joint.
Round Here grew on me like crazy. Simple, yet effective beat from Dre, some nice twists to it and Snoop kills it.

A big disapointment on snoops album . i wont be getting this .

yep...I agree 100%....Im still thinking if this album was 15 or 16 tracks it would be classic
-
I like Which One Of You, fun track with a great beat.
Candy grew on me, I hated it when it leaked, now it sounds aright.
-
Which One Of U is great.
I cant believe no one is talkign about "Talk About It." Thats Doggystyle flow.

-
only i like don't stop ft. warzone?
-
Talk About It is the shit..
Oh and Round Here is HOT... the Stan sample fits snoop... is it me or did snoop take hook lessons from 50 on round here? sounds like something 50 would write and sing.

is not you i had the same feeling when i listen it for first time
but that isn't so bad, is it?
-
whow can i listen to this album?!?!
-
it reminds me of one song of 50 i forget its name
-
I got the feeling either "Get A Light" or "Boss' Life" will be a single after "I Wanna Love You" & if "Imagine" isn't used 1st after "That's That" but that's my guess... 8)
-
next single next year or late december ;D
-
Wheres the intrology beat from? I'm sure ive heard it before cause its sooo hot.
-
Talk About It is the shit..

Yeah sounds like a 50 hook. Both 50 and Snoop make great hooks and are probably the best songwriters when it comes to mainstream rap.
-
Only just got the chance 2 listen 2 it, 1st tracks I chose woz imagine (obv!!!), LAX, Boss' Life & Round Here! All soundin dope so far!
-
it reminds me of one song of 50 i forget its name
Maybe youre thinking about GUnit - G'd Up thats also produced by Dr.Dre. Has a simillar beat in the chours and 50s hook is simillar too.
-
Round Here is wow..i like it for some reason!!!!!!!!!!!
-
this album is pretty great true a few too many filler tracks but some really solid efforts from snoop. seems dre isn't going all out on a lot of the beats people have been getting but imagine takes it up another notch, this is a timeless production. if the stuff on detox is gonna build on this there are gonna be some amazing tracks to look foward to.
-
anybody else thinkin' that D.O.C. wrote "Think About It" for Snoop...that sounds very DOC-ish on the flow
-
Weakest track for me is the LAX track and I wanna Fuck u didnt have to be on there
-
Weakest track for me is the LAX track and I wanna Fuck u didnt have to be on there
L.A.X. might be my fav track. That 1 and 10 lil crips are dope as hell. Imagine & Round Here are also sick tracks. A Bitch I Knew probably rounds out the top 5 for me not including the 2 known singles so far (for now at least). Like This, Don't Stop, Beat On Yo Pads, Which 1 Of You are fillers.
-
Oh and Redman would Fit "Wich One of U" perfectly
-
i like boss life, good reworking of that busta extinction album intro
-
Which song is the Song where hes supposedly busting? Because his son told him he dont bust like Cassidy?
and can someone PM ME
-
Am I the only one who's disappointed?
No, seriously, I can't even remember the last time I been this disappointed...shit, even "R&G" didn't disappoint me this much. "Tha Doggfather" didn't even disappoint me this much..."Da Game Is To Be Sold..." disappointed me, but I had expected it to suck cause it was No Limit. This album on the other hand...all the promise of something great, the reunion with Dre, and what it turns out to be is just, well, average. I already listened to this album twice, and I don't see it growing on me a whole lot more.
Filler is definitely a big issue with this album - the record has filler levels that nobody except Dipset can match. There are at least 8 tracks I really don't like (like Detox Is Not Coming said, many of the tracks with has-been rappers really drag down the quality), and several that should have been better than they are ("LAX" especially, and "Crazy"). The Dre tracks are pretty good but FAR from being as good as anything from "No Limit Top Dogg", "2001", or "Tha Last Meal" (although "Imagine" is some next shit). "Vato" still grows on me, "That's That Shit" may be crossover but it's still better than most of the album. And the whole thing about him going back to his roots by glorifying Crippin' is just a bullshit-ass marketing gimmick...it's the same shit he's already been doing since the Eastsidaz albums. "Gang Bangin 101" turned out OK, IMO (mostly cause Snoop and Game come pretty hard on it), but songs like "10 Lil Crips" and "Beat Up On Yo Pads" shoulda been left off.
So yeah, as y'all can tell, I'm pretty disappointed. Songs like "Vato" and "Imagine" keep the quality up a bit, but the album as a whole just really doesn't work for me...I can't see most of the tracks getting much rotation, and there's definitely not anything particularly memorable here (say what you want about "Drop It Like It's Hot", but that shit WAS memorable and catchy). I have a sinking feeling that Snoop's gonna fall big time with this one. He may have listened to all y'all whinny muh'fuckas complaining about how he sold out, but it didn't improve the quality of his music, and he ain't gonna score any big hits. Maybe being a lil more pop wasn't such a good thing for him, but going the opposite direction entirely (even as a gimmick) doesn't work, either. The only thing that makes me feel better is that Game's album is great (I definitely like it more than this), and Hov's album (which I also heard today) is REALLY damn ill.
BTW, is it just me or has Goldie Loc fallen WAY the fuck off? He sounds like he's on some wannabe Keak Da Sneak shit on both of the songs he appears on...even Eiht sounded better than him.

Beat Up Yo Pads is dope but shouldn't it be on the madden soundtrack or something?
-
I'm downloading now, this better be good.... I haven't heard anything but singles either
-
Imagine is some classic shit. Best Snoop/Dre collabo since Death Row.
haven't heard it yet, but I doubt it can top "The Wash"
it doesnt. it doesnt top any of their collabs
-
Oh and another bad thing about the album is the Mixing, i dont know something is wrong .tracks are good but the mixing is a bit weird...but still a good record
-
Talk About It is the shit..
Oh and Round Here is HOT... the Stan sample fits snoop... is it me or did snoop take hook lessons from 50 on round here? sounds like something 50 would write and sing.
Haha...that's what I was thinking. It sounded a lot like a 50 hook.
-
Imagine is my joint right now
-
Battlecat laced a nice beat for the Intro... :pimp:
I'm gonna burn it to a cd tonight before I listen further right now....
-
"Get A Light", "Imagine", "LAX", "Think About It", "Boss' Life", "Round Here", "10 Lil' Crips", ...fuck it, the whole album is FIRE...I haven't talked about a Snoop album like this since Last Meal (I like all of Snoop's albums but Doggystyle, Doggfather, Tha Last Meal, & TBCT I can listen to the whole way through & are all 5 mics worthy)... 8)

Is it really that hard for you to find? You're not crafty at all. It's like asking where to find porn. If you can't find it, then there's a problem you should have checked... :)

and where is My People? (great production)
-
It was all going so well into track 6 kicked in. Album kind of redeemed itself a little at the end, but there is a large void in the middle of albums with a lot of average tracks with very similar and not particulary inspiring production.

-
What's up with "A Bitch I Knew" sounding like a poormans Cocktales. That beat needs to be a intro, not a whole damn song.

This beat reminds me of balls of Steel from the first Eastsidaz album

Yeah sounds like a 50 hook. Both 50 and Snoop make great hooks and are probably the best songwriters when it comes to mainstream rap.
you forgot luda
but i agree, snoop is the most versatile rapper imo.......which in end makes him the best song writer to imo........thats why even when he drops a wack album, he'll have a few jams on his albums which are classic cuts and are better than most other peoples shit,
but really though, y'all killin me with this, imma wait though, i aint downloading no mo

am I the only one that is feeling Boss' Life?? that song is niiiiice!!!
That beat is sick, although i'm not feeling the hard claps so much, they shoulda been a lil softer. Snoop's rhyming and flow are proper. I like this album, WAAAY better than R & G
