Title: NFC AND AFC PRO BOWL SELECTIONS TODAY!!
Post by: "THE" MoSav on December 19, 2006, 12:45:23 PM
Its 12:40 PM PST right now, its starts at 1 PST on ESPN! I will give the complete rosters once the shows over...Any thoughts on people that could get screwed? Or guys that def deserve to get in?
I think the 49ers will actually have a player this year!!! And we all know who it is, Derek Smith has an outside
The Raiders? Will they get anybody into the pro bowl? I say 1, DE Derrick Burgess...

Derek Smith and Walt Harris have a shot as well

and remember that i said this...Safety Keith Lewis for the Niners is gonna be a future pro bowler, and is gonna keep tearing this league up! Hes like a Rodney Harrison how he hits.

NFC RB's

Frank Gore NAMED STARTER!
Steven Jackson
Tiki Barber
FB- Mack Strong (Afc's Lorenzo Neal) Whatever happened to Fred Beasley?

AND LARRY ALLEN GOT IN AS A STARTING GUARD!!!!

I would have went with Westbrook over Tiki...But at least Gore got in!

NFC WR's
Torry Holt (Starter)
Donald Driver (great choice, i thought hed get snubbed, 80 rec 1100 rec yds)
Anquan Boldin (Fitzgerald was better, but missed like 5 games, that helped Boldins numbers)
Steve Smith (starter)
Te- Alge Crumpler (starter)
TE- Jeremy Shockey (could have been Witten)

TO GOT SNUBBED Leads NFL in TD's at WR and doesnt get in...PLEASE, all offield antics aside....THATS A JOKE
Only thing is who do you leave out??? thats the problem, and how about Marques Colston and Roy Williams? Too many good WR's..I think being on a AWFUL team cost Roy.

- romo on the probowl, when you and peyton manning are battling for the best QB rating in the league it'd be a CRIME to leave him off, brett farve is having a good year no doubt but not pro bowl worthy, if Rogers were to come off the bench like romo did for bledso and make a struggling team the 3rd best NFC team in the league, i'd want him in too so all Cowboys bias aside i think romo deserves it, he's playing at a level where he deserves it

-wide receiver contro- TO i think if he went he deserved it, if he didn't go he didn't really deserve it as well. his season this year  has been one of those where it could have gone either way. he leads the NFC in TD's 5th in receiving yards, and 5th in receptions,  BUT 1st in the NFL in dropped passes (maybe due to the finger, but still first) plus he's got all that ONFIELD (forget off field) controversy. Donald Driver ....deserved it, but Roy Williams Deserved it a whole hell of a lot MORE

larry Allen- what would a probowl offensive line look like without him!?

i like the defensive selections more than i like the offensive ones. if players actually played hard in these games this would be a great game

How so?

Donald Driver has more catches, More yards and 3 more TD's!! And is on a team that is still alive being the #1 WR..I agree Roy Williams deserves it, but how so more then Driver?

i disagree, the Packers are the leages youngest team, but yeah being in Detroit is miserable...

How Funny is this: Im watchin Sports Center right now and on the Bottom line htey were listing the pro bowlers, and they listed LARRY ALLEN (DAL)
instead of Larry Allen (SF)

STUPID ESPN!!! Still thinking Larry Allen is on the Boys...LOL

I dont know how i feel about Romo makin it...I mean only 8 games played...kinda suspect. But then again if you look at the NFC theres not a real strong canadite to oppose him really...Maybe Favre. I give Romo his due but lets just say i dont consider him a lock.

My boy Gore made starter though so all in all it was a good day for me

Nnamndi had 7 picks a number of pass deflections and really emerged as one of the few bright spots in a dismall season. Shit Chad Johnson even gave him props before the raider game calling Nnamndi "Fucking Good".  Sapp also lead all D-lineman in tackles this year and got snubbed.

Ok maybe not for this pro-bowl but for my team I'd choose Walker. Harrison is lined up right next to Wayne and they have Peyton Manning, of course Wayne is going to have more balls thrown to him. But in a WR comparison Javon>>> Reggie

alot of raiders got snubbed on that defence, give the raiders a reliable qb and a couple good guards and they're a wild card team in the nfc

Why? Javon Walker has had one good year ever...
Wayne has been great ever since he came out the U where he was great. Wayne would be great wherever he played. You take JaVON and ill take Wayne  ;D

Wayne has Peyton Manning to catch balls, no homo, from and Harrison to keep of double teams. Walker has a rookie QB and an aging Rod Smith and he's still looking good, no E-crazy.

irrelevant comment...so John Taylor wasnt good either or didnt deserve to make the few pro bowls he made because he had Rice on the other side and had Monatana then Young throwing to him?  ::)
Wayne does face dbl teams if you watched closer youd see that, teams that play the colts switch double teams all day long, and its not long some WR's are getting dbl teamed every play, blitzes, zone blitzes, zones, plenty of times when WR's arent even covered at all. If you are a good WR you wll make plays no matter who is throwing the ball or who is on the other side. Look at Steve Smith...Reggie Wayne>Javon walker (And Rod smith is still very solid, dont discredit Rod Smith)

Rice did played great with two different quarterbacks. My point is that Peyton makes his WR's look good. Lets look at Randy Moss. He has no quarterback to catch balls from and his games with the Raiders haven't been up to his expectations. This year was Reggie's year hut I'm pretty damn sure once Walker gets better at catching the ball, next year Walker will be known as an elite WR. Now that's just my opinion and I can see why you think Wayne is raw but to me Walker is just better.

real talk..

Moss is a terrible example, he DROPS multiple passes every game, so i dont care who is throwing him the ball Moss isnt half of what he was on teh Vikings..He hasnt been dominant since 2003..

And i didnt say RICE, i said JOHN TAYLOR
And of course Manning makes Wayne Look good, I guess he was only good at Miami too because of Ken Dorsey right? Wayne>walker You have youre opinion and ill have mine  ;D
BUT GO NINERS!! we can agree on that. Huge game on Sunday!

thats not fair, dont penalize a guy due to what he has on the other side..So TJ is no good because CHAD is on the other side? Boldin is no good because Fitzgerald is on the other side and vice versa? I can keep going, Wayne is great GIVE HIM CREDIT SPAREGEEZ!!!  >:(
